Abilities, from what I saw, cost 1 credit. And since you can only buy 1 ability every time you lvl up, this makes sense. Clothes I think are obtained by completing Challenges. I don't know if if there is another way to obtain weapons, attachments, and character customization items, besides Challenges.

I like that,I just hope it isn't something like "do 9 headshots in 9 shots then jump off a ......etc." I like a challenge but those stupid ones do piss me off. :swear: Btw Horse did you join Unit 13? I saw you on their forums.

Health and weapons should be available from the start cheaply, with things like better gear costing more.

In Battlefield 2142, the opposite is true. So you can get better health packs, increased speed and all that from the start in leveling, but better weapons cost much more and you need to unlock everything else first. Plus, things like defibrilators and even grenades need to be unlocked. So, your first few level-ups will be spent just getting basic gear. It's flawed in so many ways.

In Brink, it should be better. Weapons and major upgrades should be first, with bonuses being unlocked later. So a bigger gun is first, but extended mags come later.

Well of course some weapons are gonna be available from the start. They're not just gonna throw you into battle with your bare hands...

You won't need to unlock defibs - everything that a class needs to do it's job (like Medics healing and reviving) is available from the start, and grenades I think are standard.

In the new Dev Diary it shows a level 2 buying abilities for 1 credit each, and he has 10 credits. I guess this could just be for the purpose of the video, but maybe you start with some credits so each character's different from the very beginning? Or maybe you unlock one new ability in each tier for leveling up, but can buy more. I think abilities will cost more than a single credit each, maybe better, or more specialized abilities will cost more, as with the trial period, you can't sell an ability back for half a credit after that 24 hours, but I think I read that you can sell it back after 24 hours but for a lower price than you bought it for.

Last we heard you gain one new ability every time you level up. No skills trees so you can gain any ability.

I know there are no skill trees but I'm pretty certain that most abilities are unlocked to buy after leveling, as we see in most of the video footage.

Although you could be right, there's something you are forgetting - the ability screens we've seen are from demo builds. The abilities could be locked, simply because they don't want to reveal them all to the public yet.

They could be, but I know they've said that the abilities you get at higher levels aren't better but different, meaning there are abilities that you can only get at higher levels. I still like the idea of starting with a few credits, to make each character unique from level 1.
