Comparable stats

Should there be comparable stats like how many enemies have been killed, gold, locks picked, and quests completed among other things?

Like total Oblivion gates closed or total dragons slain or highest bounty acquired? Yes, please. :twirl:

Don't care. They're little use other than "mine's bigger!"

Of course there will be. I'm sure there will be achievements as well. Incidentally, if there isn't one called "Confused Turtle" I will be very upset.

Yes.

Wasn't there something like this in Oblivion already though?

Yes but they wernt actually comparable. Also id like to see an average score based of of things like kills, deaths/save reverts, locations discovered, etc. and given a score based off of those that would act kinda like a leader board but it would be harder to get a better score the higher you leveled.

Back up, I wanna stop you right there. Yes there should be stat tracking.there should in no way be leaderboards, this is a singleplayer game, and a singleplayer game it should remain.

This. Plus, people can just edit their save file to set it to whatever they want. Leaderboards are not a very good idea and probably will not happen.

Now in a civilized manner i would like to point out games that are singleplayer can have leaderboards alot of them arcade but some like CoD4s campaign and certain other games do have features similar to my idea. So yes it is a singleplayer game that has not changed.

People are just going to cheat up with console commands until their game explodes.

Things like these never really mattered to me so I don't really care either way.

I'm indifferent, but it would be a neat thing to have on the side. When you're bored. And you're talking about it with friends or a community. I'd rather not have it turn into a competition.

EDIT- I apologize for my last post. My cap lock was on.

Leaderboards won't be implemented because it would make absolutely no sense to include them. It'd be like having an announcer that shouts MU-MU-MU-MU-MULTIKILL!

you do realize this would spark a "competetion" of sorts and I believe as someone has posted cheat to get ahead. IMO leaderboards are never good news because they add fuel to the cheating and hacking fire. I didnt mean to appear uncivilized, but I wanted to express how vehemently I oppose this leaderboard proposal. What use would it serve, other than making someone feel bad because "XxXNight5hadowXxX" has 1000 more points and did that quest alot better and faster than you.

Not comparable ones (leaderboards). They were perfect in Oblivion.

I really could care less about those stats. Half the time I found myself scratching my head trying to figure out how it actually calculated some of them. Their numbers just seemed so... off.

Waitwaitwait...are you talking like a leaderboard here, tracking all those silly counters like we had in Oblivion but posted for people to publically debate (brag about, fight over) whose is bigger?

Changing my vote to "Oh, hell no!"

Those tended to be accurate, but locks picked. I'd see like 5 when I KNEW I had picked several times that.

If I play a nearsighted PC, then I want the game to acknowledge that in the mechanics.
This can happen in an RPG with Stats; I don't believe this can happen in Skyrim ~unless there are negative 'perks'.

Uh...dude...not talking about things like SPECIAL attributes, OP is asking about leaderboards for things like "Pants Exploded" and "Locks Picked." A quick browse of the last 5 or 6 posts will make this evident. :)

Skyrim would also have to be connected to the internet...which is never going to happen.

Oh.. that. never mind.
The only game I play that has that is Dawn of War, and I pay it no mind, so I did not make the association.

Edit: In hindsight... I dunno how I got through the OP without "getting it". I remember reading it... but I guess its some deep seated force of habit at this point, and you see what you expect to.

As to the topic... I'm decidedly not for it; and as was said... it would need an internet connection to update.
