Hello,

I have two questions. First, I found the BoS Abandoned Bunker. It requires a key. Where can I find it? I know this isn't the BoS safehouse.

Second, I'm working on the quest Return to Sender (radio codes to ranger outposts). While heading to the one north of Boulder City, north of Boulder Beach, I see two lakelurks on the docks, before I can snipe them they charge away and to my left firing sonic blasts. I see a securitron charging and firing at them. The lakelurks made short work of it. I snipe the lurks, go down to loot, and discover the securitron is Victor. He is dead and I can loot him (scrap metal and 9mm ammo). Is my game now broken? I heard that you meet him again in Vegas and you have to do more things with him. I still can't figure out why Victor was there. It is the wrong way to Vegas. Much earlier I wasted Vulpes Inculta in Nipton. Now I wonder if the game is truly screwed.

Your game should be fine, the securitron personalities can move between units, chances are when you get to the Strip Victor will be in a new body.

don't worry about Victor dieing you'll find him on the Strip in a body of a new securitron, u can talk to victor b4 he dies and he'll tell u he is headed for new vegas. he doesn't really die

He's scripted to greet you (sometimes even help you, tho that's rare) in a few situations/triggers and thus Victor likes to show up in strange places if you are not following the 'guided' main quest line in its exact linear fashion. I've had him show up in all kinds of odd places, forcing me to talk to him in the middle of a firefight even. Same with a few other npc's that do similar things.

And yeah...I don't think it'll break the game.

i had the same question
i started a new game and while being around goodsprings killing some geckos, i met the robot.after some conversation he went away but he was stuck in the geometry. a few days later i went back to this place and found him death. after looting him he just disappeared.
now im in novac, and of course hes not there so i was wondering too if the game is still good. good to know everything is fine!:)

Thanks for the replies. Makes me feel better. I was worried something I had no control over would break my game.

the abandoned bos bunker doesnt have a key, if you uninstall the patch it will be unlocked. there isnt much in there though. for some reason the patch locked it.

There is a book in there so if you are on the PC and want to cheat to get it type ~ then unlock while highlighting the door. I do this only after I've completed all the BoS quests and they :icecream: me so much they train me in power armor. I suspect that would be the appropriate time in the game that the BoS would have bestowed upon me the key. :twirl:

Unlocking a door via the console, that wasn't supposed to be locked to being with isn't cheating, its debugging. Your never supposed to get the key because the abandoned bunker isn't supposed to be locked.

exactly, if you clear your system cache (on x360) you can go inside without a key, because it isnt supposed to have one. the patch locked the door, if you uninstall the patch you can go in. just dont reinstall the patch before you leave the bunker though. because then you will have to clear the cache again to "unlock" the door

Thanks for the bunker answers. I play PS3, so how do I remove the patch? svcks that a patch to fix things, screwed them up instead.

Maybe on the PC but it was always locked on my PS3 - McNamara gave me the key after I found the dead BoS scouts and bought back their holotapes.

Now, on the other hand, even though I'm idolized (and have be for many many months in-game) by the NCR they've never offered me a key to their safehouse. Gits.

the key you recieved was for the BOS safehouse, the BOS bunker is a totally different building.

Rats, back to the drawing board. Well I got the new patch last night. Maybe it has fixed the problem. I will find out.
