Where are the codes for the Character Packs?

Post » Tue Jul 13, 2010 7:07 pm

My copy of new Vegas finally arrived. I've looked through the box for the code for my Caravan pack, but I don't see it. Are we supposed to get it in the box or not?

Only if you preordered. It should be on a slip inserted inside the DVD case.

I received my code via email, you checked for it there?

I preordered mine on the 15th October. Was that not early enough? I don't suppose it really matters, since I wanted to play the game regardless of the bonuses, but still. All that's in my case is the disc, the Manual, and an ad for Brink. On the invoice it says with exclusive Preorder, so i assume it should be included.

I haven't got any email from them about the preorder pack, just a standard dispatch email.

Where'd you order it from then? I can vouch for Play.com & Game being good with sending the codes out, if I remember right with play.com it might come a couple of days after release.

I got it from Play.com. So you're saying it might come a few days after release (i.e today)? I suppose that's better than never. The PS store doesn't update until Thurday anyway.

I pre-ordered from GAME and I received my code via email. You can always contact the store and ask them about it.

If its not emailed by the end of the day, I'll probably ask them to clarify their policy on codes.

Just gonna point out that the PS store updates on Wesnesdays now and the FO:NV Pre order packs are on there, they don't show up for purchase or even in the main store interface but if you have a code you can download that pack by entering the code in.

Check your Order Confirmation emails, the might had hidden it in there.

No, there's nothing of the sort in my confirmation emails.

It looks like Play [censored] up, so I've emailed them about it. You'd think they'd be less stupid about this stuff by now. Its not like digital distribution is new or anything.

I'm presuming its like with previous DLC redeem code stuff. There's a section on PS3 XMB under "PSN account" that says "redeem codes" and you click on that and type in the code.

I did not pre-order. I just picked a copy off the shelf at Best Buy.

The bonus pack code was on a sheet inserted inside the box.

And according to the text on the sheet, you enter the code (assuming you're on PC), by using the "Activate a Product on Steam" option in the Games menu bar in the Steam application.

(Don't know if that actually works, I haven't bothered entering the code. I didn't pre-order because I didn't want a bonus pack.)

I did not pre-order either. I bought mine at bestbuy, just picked off the shelf and when I got home I had the caravan pick number inside on a sheet.

I preordered the Collector's Edition from GAME.co.uk on 13th September. The game arrived yesterday, but I've still not received any email from GAME with the preorder code. My "receipt/invoice" clearly states: "Fallout: New Vegas Collector's Edition (with Preorder Bonus in-game Classic Pack)". This isn't the first time that GAME have failed to provide a preorder code for a fgame that I preordered from them. It's really starting to get annoying, they seem to use one of two excuses:

1) GAME have not yet received any preorder codes from the supplier
2) GAME did not receive enough preorder codes to cover all the preorders that were taken by GAME

In other words, it's never actually GAME's fault, it's the supplier/distributor/some other company that has failed to deliver to GAME. I've emailed GAME, but I don't expect to get an actual reply for at least two weeks, by which time they can safely say that it's too late to get any more preorder codes and they're very sorry for the inconvenience!

Frankly, some company somewhere is ripping people off with these preorder bonus item incentives, and GAME have failed to provide once too often. I'm not interested in whether it's GAME, Obsidian, Bethesda or some other company that's responsible, I just want the full product that I ordered as it was advertised! Is that too much to ask?

I've had similar problems with Play.com as well, so while both GAME and Play.com may be pretty good with the delivery of the actual game, they're not so good at getting any associated preorder bonus codes to eligible customers!

I ordered from play on 15th and havent had my pre-order code. I've contacted them by email and phone and just get the 'relevant department is dealing with it' brush off. If its not emailed within the next few days I'm going to return the game to them and claim a refund. Only reason I pre-ordered was because of the extras, I usually wait until xmas when the online retailers and supermarkets slash all their prices to about £20. And judging by all the bugs reported in this game, that might not be a bad idea anyway.

Thanks play.com. Knew I should have never spurned amazon.
