Gambling and Mini-games

Post » Thu Jul 15, 2010 7:19 am

I already hated the whole lock picking game in OB, and I felt disappointed knowing that that one would be returning, so no thank you, one is already too much

Well if they do it like in Fallout 3 it won't be so bad. But I agree, the version in Oblivion was annoying. I always just went with auto-attempt.

hoping for tavern brawls, archery competitions, strength competitions (lifting heavy objects maybe?), fishing.

This. Gambling would also be nice. Yahtzee, Poker, Russian Roulette...

NO!

Let me tell you why!

THIS WOULD RUIN THE GAME

That is why.

Seriously why would anyone want to gamble or play cards in skyrim. Why would anyone ever want to do that, when you can do it somewhere else. It doesn't add to the game, it takes away from it.

it really wouldn't take away from the game and the game is not forcing you to play the mini games. But if you really hate the mini games then you could simply not play them and that would be that.

No card games, period. Talk about cliche/hella lame

I'd rather have card games than woodcutting, cooking, mining, farming, leather working, or lute playing.

They should totally add red rover to Skyrim.

If your personality is too low you run the risk of throwing a fit and going home when you lose a round.

How about all development time be focused on the macro-game called Skyrim, and all the mini-game fans can download any of countless free versions of all the swill they'd want coded into Skyrim?

(Hell personally, I feel the same way about all the 9-to-5s that are already confirmed too, when you get right down to it. Call me freaky, but I've no interest in roleplaying my Monty Python-esque desire to be http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PpxQp3Hy5nk.)

I don't get how people could think it takes away from the game..... If anything it adds more depth to your character development. For me my character doesn't just stop at quests and dungeon raiding, I like to interact with just general people, sit in a tavern and take in the creativity of the Devs or stand in a busy Market place and people watch. So having some type of mini-game involving dice, cards, coins or what ever the Devs come up with would just add to that.

there is something called a search bar, use it. We have had a topic like this already.

I'm browsing/posting from my iPhone and have no idea where the search function is on the mobile browser. If you know then please enlighten me, also if you can't contribute to a thread then wouldn't it be best to read it and discard it rather then the "use the search function" reply? Most forums keep going due to people asking the same questions time and time again.....

maybe even shady characters in back alleys with the classic pea under a cup gambling??

You mean the kind where the guy cheats? Yeah... and waste all of my coins, then kill him (or rob him) and get my money back!
