Boomers boom me when Idolized?

Post » Thu Jul 22, 2010 5:14 am

Hi,
I've made it to the gate (used Turbo x2 to get there without being hit).
Finished all the boomer quests (including unmarked quests) and have been Idolized by the Boomers.
But they still blow me up if I go anywhere near the front gate.
Even if I'm still inside the compound, I also tried using boomer apparel, no weapons out.
But as soon as I approach the front gate from inside or outside the boomers start blowing me up.
Even their own man at the gate is getting hit as well.
I've looked through the fallout nv wiki for bugs in relation top what's happening but haven't found anything.

Is this suppose to be this way? As it's making hard for me to find the BoS blokes that are out front so I can complete the BoS task.

Any tips as to what I'm doing wrong?

Cheers

No it's not supposed to be that way. Once you make contact the first time the shelling stops forever. Maybe the patch reset the initial quest.

EDIT: And those BOS blokes are one of the many BOS quest bugs. They may not be there if the patch didn't fix it. I think it's the only crater with a car in it. The quest marker should take you straight to it. I had to install a mod that put aq briefcase there with the needed holotapes in it. What svcks is they were there the first time I was through there and I think lifted their armor. But once I triggered the quest at the BOS they were gone.

Hi and thank you for letting me know.
Looks like it's back to the drawing board again.. doh
This time I'll make individual saves at every every point in the game before a major change in the game starts.
Not just quick saves.

So far I've restarted the game nothing short of 27 times due to I end up with a quest that has gone wrong and left me in stalemate.
(sure I can use commands to get around it, but that's not what I'm after)
But the bummer is it's not always the same quests that go wrong..lol

The quest that really peeved me was successfully disarming the mono rail bomb only to have it blow up anyway..lol

Thanks and cheers

The real annoying thing about those BOS guys is there actually was something there, you just couldn't see it or interact with it except through console commands. I typed in the ref id # and summoned it to me at another location, then walked away and then did "move to" the item at it's new location. Either they were invisible or disabled, but there was something there.
