What could be decreasing my lockpick level?

Post » Mon Jul 26, 2010 11:55 am

I believe I had this problem on both Oblivion and Fallout 3, but for the life of me I can't figure out what I did to restore my lockpick back to 100. I have dozens of bobby pins, so it's not that, and in the level up menu my lockpick is clearly at level 100. Help, anyone?

Maybe you have some sort of bonus item/effect on your character that makes it show 100 but prevents it from truly being 100?

Are you addicted to any drugs?

Are you addicted to drugs, suffering from a sickness (if in hardcoe Mode) or wearing an item that would effect the relevant stats?

Check your stats, both SPECIAL and Skills. There would be a (-) next to it if you are.

What he said. Go to your Pip-Boy and on the 1st page of the first group, go down to the 3rd option (EFF). This will tell you what's affecting you. (i.e. Med-X withdrawl, armor bonuses, etc.)

Go to your Status, then click EFF (Effects).

It will list all negatives and whats causing it.

Lockpick falls under Agility, just incase you weren't aware.

Well I know the metal armour ingame has an agility penalty, so that may be the cause.

If you can find them, there's also "Fixers" which are supposed to cure addictions instead of the Docs. They might be cheaper/more convenient.

Fixer is only a temporary solution.

I believe it's only 50 to 100 caps to get rid of the addiction. It's really not a lot at all.
