I got to the part where Bilbo and the dwarves are captured by the trolls in the forest. After Gandalf outsmarts the silly trollz they find they have some pretty cool loot. Including two special swords incrusted with jewels! At first they dont know too much about these swords but they can tell theres something special about about. After they meet up with there friend Elrond and he's able too tell them that these were legendary swords lost long ago after taking the lives of many goblins.
So what i was thinking: How cool is that?!
Now imagine your raiding a cave, or something in skyrim and at the end mabe after killing a boss or in a hidden room, and you come across a unique item you see the name, stats, and appearence and thats pretty cool. Now what if you found a note with this item that tells you of its own special past, or prehaps like the characters in the hobbit if you take it to a special person they might be able to tell you something about it.
Items with there own lore in oblivion basicly only consited of deadric artifacts, and to me thats rather boring becuse i know that every deadric prince has his own item i can get and its lore consists of that deadric prince making/losing/or giving away that item. I'd like to find weapons with more well unique lore as well, even if its something small like a sword beloning to an unkown farmer who died trying to protect his family from bandits. This isn't ownlly for weapons and armors but how about rings and amulets, even finding somebodys lucky coin would be cool to me. What do you guys think? I hope to see more of this in skyrim.
p.s. a sword that glows when enemies are near would be pretty awsome
