When he came out of his little capsule I seriously was scarred for a second like I was going to have to fight some alien creature haha. Then I knifed him in the face, but I'm doing my 2nd run through now, and I don't think I'm gonna do that again. I don't want the responsibility of running New Vegas by myself.

Running Vegas by yourself is not hard, you just get help from other minor factions (like all other main faction's main quests)

House is a dictator who doesn't care who he kills to get complete control. He believes he has earned the right to dominate others based on his pre-War wealth. One man shouldn't have that much power in a world like Fallout. I did the pro-House runthrough once, only out of curiosity, but I usually stick with NCR or Independent Vegas.

For some reason, even seeing the capsule, my mind didn't make the connections to the idea of what was going to be inside.
