-sigh- I have logged several hours vs bots and vs players, why does it matter, if I want to level quickly, I vs bots, if I want a more challenging game with unpredictability, I'll play online, why must people such as those whom assume I must ONLY play with bots because I hadn't experienced much. Ok FINE here it is, and ZOMG for the love of gaming, get a grip on your spoiled kiester, pc games on release and for a while after have about a 50/50 change of functioning to it's fullest on EVERY single hardware/driver configuration, so your argument is invalid, void. Fine, if YOU can't deal with the possibility of having issues day 1 and there after for a while and won't take the time to FIGURE something out for your system then don't buy the game day 1.
MY SYSTEM, it's a little old, yet, you should ask yourself what I've done to get it to work to my liking, it isn't the greatest, but I can at least enjoy it vs bots, where it would actually have a greater hit on FPS because now not only does your pc need to take you as the player into account, it also has to take AI mechanics, scripting, animations (all the time anyways) and much more that drive the bots, where as it's just net coding, hit detection ammo, animations and player location on the map that needs to be called up and sent. BTW EVEN graphics can cause lag via internet, even if your system SHOULD be able to handle it, the game isn't optimized fully for your configuration so therefor your pc has to work much harder, you might say, well, if that was the case, then even SP would be [censored], not all the time, there are cases where net code and transmitting stuff and calling up info while your pc is also trying to pull up your graphics and everything taxes it all even more, if lets say every one wasn't having issues with graphics, then I would say it is net code, don't get me wrong, Brink needs optimizing all around, but try turning everything off, I guarantee it should to the least bit run a little smoother.
MY SYSTEM
Intel Core Duo 2.5
4 gigs ram 800mhz
500 gig HD Sata 8mg cache
PNY NVidia GTS 250
Windows Vista Prem 64bit
I spent an entire day in the brink CFG messing with stuff, I spent time trying to recreate CTD's and figuring out work around so it doesn't CTD, I managed to find out when and how it would crash. Disabled Triple Buffering, Added a few lines of command to the autoexec.cfg. After a while I finally got Container city in the most open part of the map which was the most taxing map in the entire game to run at 50 fps constant. Yes I run with almost everything off except texture quality on high and running in windowed mode with 1600x900 or FS with 1920x1080. So, after my optimizing because NOT every part of the game is optimized to it's fullest, take Post Processing and motion blur, it caused blue fog, or shadows on, which on his system shouldn't be an issue at all, but he had to turn it off, bam high FPS (and my friends rig is god compared to mine). You just need to look around and get off your horse and stop thinking things need to be hand fed to you. That is what we are here for, to help you with issues. Yes, maybe your problem lies with MP lag, did it occur to you to try lowering graphical settings to try to free up some of your possibly over taxed pc power, or maybe messing with a bit of your pc configuration, at least figure out what the issue is on your end to report it to SD so that they can make a fix for your and other similar configurations?
I have lost faith for my giraffe.
