Will I be able to paly Skyrim in the minute it comes out?

Post » Tue Aug 24, 2010 8:11 am

Well, im living far away from the USA and I cant get my hands fast enough on skyrim! ordering it will take atleast three days to make it in here.
I heard Skyrim could be downloaded (paying for it ofcurse) does anyone knows when this download will be available and if it will be available in the minute it comes out? also, what is the download method? through steam Ive heard its possible but im having problems with steam. Ive payed like 600$ on steam games then i was deleted. They thought im cheating (???) and banned me. (I wasn't, and i only played singleplayers anyway so wtf)

Will I have to get steam for getting it downloadable? Or is there any other method? detail me please if you know :o

Thanks alot!

Actually I've heard Steam allows downloading days in advance, then "unlocks" the game at midnight...allowing you to play download the day 1 patch at the minute of release.

Doesnt look like it, if you look at other games on Steam now, a store bought version will still need to run via steam, same as a download copy.

http://www.direct2drive.com/ will probably have it, but it might have a steam verification.

Check out Bethesda's http://orders.gamesas.com/. There might be something there.

Never mind. I don't think there is.

Will they have to use a North American proxy due to ridiculous region issues?

Thought that direct2drive was bought out by steam or something and now does everything through them? mafia style lol ...could be wrong though

Although i didnt know you could download the game days in advance and at midnight download the first day patch...sounds awesomee and will definitely be doing that hah

Thats what preorder is for and most games also have open betas( im not sure how bethesta stands with them) but if there is any in TES V you would be able to play the game 2-3 weeks before release date.

TES = no open betas, no demos.

It will probably be on steam. and when steam bans a user for cheating your account does not get deleted, you just get banned from playing online, so if you only play single-player being banned should not affect your game at all.

If they're going for worldwide simultaneous release, don't bank on being able to play from midnight in any particular time zone. Because midnight in one time zone may be 7am in another time zone, or 5pm elsewhere.

This simple fact has caused no end of confusion for people wanting to activate their copies of TW2, a lot of people do not seem to grasp that midnight in one place might be a different time on the clock elsewhere, despite both parties having access to the game at the exact same moment!
