Removing "meltdown"?

Meltdown is getting painful. Is there a PC console command to remove it?

The Console command is:
Player.Removeperk 14609a

Good luck.

Is there any way to shield yourself from its damage better? It looks like Hit the Deck would have done it if it were implemented as it was in Fallout Tactics (against all splash damage), but New Vegas specifies Explosives... (I'm on Xbox, so no removal option here.)

yes, simply don't pick it :-p
otherwise you could always pick adamatium skeleton so you would get less often broken limbs & thougness, to lower the amount of damage you get, but honestly, avoid picking that perk, it's more of a malus than bonus, it ruined a character I created.
