Why side with NCR, Legion or Mr. House? who didn't side with

I might have my conspiracy theorist goggles on, but when you think about it, Yes-Man 'advises' you on what to do next for every quest. Since Yes-Man seems like a true A.I. akin to JHE from Fallout 3, I have to wonder if Yes-Man just needed a human patsy so that he could surreptitiously take control of Vegas. I also just now thought of something. House didn't seem to concerned with Yes-Man existing when you mentioned him, so what if he somehow coded this 'personality trait' and purposely left it to leave a Neuro Computational Maxtrix copy of Houses Brainwaves, essentially turning him into a Machine God Messiah should the true Mr. House die?

In some ways (however minor) it resembles 'Bioshock' in which Atlas was always asking you "would you kindly".. do this, do that..

As for NV, I don't trust anyone other than my character.. although in my playthroughs I've never ever taken the Legion route and never will.. that faction to me and especially Caesar are totally ridiculous and should be used for nothing else other than target practice.

If you convince Hanlon to just quietly drop his little plot, after he helps the NCR withdraw from the region, he will start a public campaign decrying Kimball's and Oliver's imperialistic hawkishness, and score a Senate seat on that platform. I think it's the beginning of the end of the Kimball administration... especially if you let the idiot get brained or blown up.

All three options involve basically becoming a puppet. Instead of being able to rule New Vegas on your own with the help of Yes Man. (keep in mind I'm still playing so I don't know how that ends)

Mr. House acts like he has good intentions and he's this amazing guy, but he's pathetic, he can't live without machines, he speaks only though a computer, and he is an egomaniac who kills people who dare try to enter New Vegas. And he's going to use his new killbots to further advance his brutal dictatorship.

Caesar is just a psycho and his society is just evil with all the slavery and crucifixion. Against technology but he has this medical machine near his bed. hypocrite...

Haven't met President Kimball yet but the NCR are a bunch of bureaucratic, corrupt losers, they act like they're good but they have no problem destroying cities or killing loads of civilians. And I'm sure dissent isn't tolerated in the NCR so it is probably still very much a dictatorship. Caesar alluded to this when discussing Tandi and her long reign. NCR just makes the appearance of democracy.

I'm glad they added a fourth option for myself so I didn't have to choose any of these clowns.

Honestly and unfortunately, you really can't. But I thought he was referring to the Independent/Yes Man path but I guess he wasn't. http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Yes_Man

EDIT: Well, I guess you COULD actually just kill everybody in the game including NCR, Legion et al. But that wouldn't be any real fun, and I don't believe you can actually complete the main quest if you did that. And after a 2nd read, he WAS referring to Yes Man, he just didn't know how it would end.

In contemplating endings, I'm wondering what happens next for the Courier after he's helped the NCR solidify its control of the Mojave. Undoubtedly, he would have a LOT of influence because of all he has done; much more than even Chief Hanlon after he planned the strategy that won the First Battle of Hoover Dam. But politically speaking, to The Powers That Be he would be viewed as a helluva dangerous wild card. The Courier being a high-profile doer would make a great poster child for those NCR citizens that after the battle, the NCR _needs_ to go East f the dam and finish off Caesar's Legion, once and for all. On the other political side, Robber Barons and their pet politicians will be wondering "What is to be gained by doing so? We've got the Dam and New Vegas, and there's nothing but barbarians East of the river. Besides, keeping Caesar's Legion as 'an ongoing threat' means that we can keep on passing out Government defense contracts to friends and supporters." So, politically speaking, to The Powers That Be, the Courier MUST be brought under control. Controlling Hanlon had been easy, because Hanlon was already "in the System", being part of the Rangers network and subject to obeying orders from above. But the Courier is pointedly a loose cannon that would need to be made not-loose.

I figure that The Powers That Be would approach the Courier and invite him to "Come! Join us! Work for _us_! Do what _we_ tell you to do!" ONCE. If he declined the invitation, they would find a way to discredit him, frame him, make him disappear from public view. Something like charge him for "crimes against humanity" and war crimes while he had been energetically "making things happen" during the build-up to the Second Battle of Hoover Dam. Then put him in solitary confinement in the NCR Penal System somewhere. (Just in case they need him to be brought out of storage to save their bacon again at a later date.)
