There is actually an "Anti-Cheating" mechanic in-game to stop you doing this, which makes you unable to use anything gambling related for sometime after reloading a save after gambling.

I have about 7000 caps right now. I've barely started the game and I have that much already. I just got to Novac. I havent gambled at all I just sell what I pick up and make so much money.

Instead of starting a new thread, I thought I'd just post here - what are your opinions on the best way to make caps? - I am pretty early on in the game. I have a relatively low luck as I my main Intelligence, Strength and Endurance are all over 7. So should I keep working on raising my luck (probably via Intense Training) because it is one of the most efficient ways to make money, or should I focus on other ways?

Replies are greatly appreciated.

EDIT: It isn't helped by the fact Vendors take 4 days to get any amount of caps back and even that isn't their maximum default.

I used to have 16000 but after buying an anti-material rifle and some ammo, i now have like 6000 i think

In order to make money I exploited the game before it was patched. . .

Basically you go into system settings/ memory/ clear Cache.

When you load fallout don't update, go to primm spend all your money on casino chips cash them in for caps buy more chips cash those in.

Basically the glitch works so that you never actually turn in the casino chips and every time you cash in you make double your money.

Try to buy as little as possible and sell as much as you can. I think the best way is to get lots of caps is get your unarmed or melee skill up, that way you can sell all the ammo you get and save money by not having to buy more.

Also, at the start just grab all the tin cans and anything else you can get your hands on and sell everything you can pick up. Sleep instead of buying stimpaks.

40k, Have every implant. At this point I stopped looting/stealing stuff or I could easily be well over that. But theres no point.

Anyone utilize the Vikki and Vance Casino glitch (don't worry I'm not spoiling anything), yet? I have over 1.25 million caps and a bunch of NCR and Caesar's Legion money. Before anyone says anything, these glitches will probably be gone by the time I get to my melee/unarmed character, so I had to use them the best I could lol.
Edit: I also have all the implants, and over 1k .50MG rounds for Boone's Anti-materiel Rifle (he's a monster with it), and over 3k rounds for my own Gobi Campaign Scout Rifle. Anyone know a good place to buy regular .45-70 Gov't? At Gun Runners, they've only got .45-70 Hollow Points...
