What will your first character be like?

Post » Sat Sep 18, 2010 8:16 pm

A Nord Paladin that is in his 30's. I will focus on 2-handed warhammers, heavy armor, magical shileding and healing as my main skills and have block, smithing and maybe enchant as secondary.

That sounds badass. May have to try it, but with one handed weapon.

I'm not quite sure what race yet, but he'll be about 21-years-old and utilize both magic and combat skills, neither full mage nor full melee-fighter. When he begins a fight, he will use magic to buff himself and deal ranged magic damage to his enemies. When they get up close, he'll equip his two shortswords and go berserk.

All of the specifics depend on how the races look and what their bonuses are and also on the different spells available. From what it seems now, Destruction will be more than just the repetitive fireball/shockbolt/frostbolt spells it was in Oblivion and Morrowind, which really makes me happy. I only hope the other schools of magic are similarly revamped.

Pure Mage. Run around with a spell in one hand that will reduce magicka resistance and in the other a spell that will slow them or stop them in their tracks and then tap whatever it is to quick equip my next set of favorite spells to Fire in one hand and Cold in the other, should be droppin enemies like flies. Will not fast travel at all for the first 100 hours or so, can't wait to see everything. Dunno Race or anything like that yet.

I make the same three characters (well, with variations) for every first person RPG since Morrowind.

In Skyrim, they will take the forms of:

* Redguard mercenary warrior woman. Based loosely on Conan. Fears magic and never uses it. I will attempt to have her learn all weapon and armor skills evenly for use in different situations. Front door approach. She will probably embrace her destiny as the Dragonborn.

* Dunmer mage. Necromancer if I can make it happen. Definitely a summoner anyway. Focus on all magic skills and nothing else. Will stay away from combat as much as possible. Scholarly approach to everything. Will never carry weapons.

* Bosmer archer/thief. Cute, dumb, lucky, and talented. Stealthy approach.

Middle aged Nord man with a huge beard and a heart of gold. He will be skilled with an axe. after all, he was a lumber jack working in Cyrodiil until the decline of the logging trade.

a middle aged but strong dark elf with some battle scars. I want to play a character that doesn't seem like he's an FNG.

Unless something substantial happends, my first and last character in Skyrim will be exactly the same as my character in Morrowind and Oblivion:

- Breton
- Female
- Sign: Atronarch
- Focus: Magic
- Class: Adventurer (a master-of-all-trades)

P.s.: Oh, and about looks: I'll just make her as beautiful as possible.

Bosmer, archer alchemist. I'm curious, we have seen kajiit and north but no images of other races, right? (kajiit seems wonderful)
