Dwemer Mod

So, when Skyrim comes out & we know Dwemer RUINS are confirmed. Is it possible to make a Dwemer mod for dwemer to reappear back in Skyrim? Sounds interesting to me :whisper:

Yes. All they would have to do is make a Dwemer race. Could easily get more complicated than that depending on how extensive you want it to be, though.

And not to mention just making the race would be pretty complicated in itself.

Technically yes. It wouldn't be very lore friendly though. Well actually it could be. In the lore, one of the theories behind the dissapearence of the Dwemer is that Kregernac used the heart of Lorkhan to make his people immortal. One of the side effects would have been that they would transcend to another plane of existence, possibly one of the realms of oblivion. So if you were to say make a mod, you could use the explanation that the Dwemer found a way to re-create their physical bodies, or found a way to re-enter mundus.

Have you seen the race mods for Morrowind and Oblivion? Of course it will be possible to make a Dwemer race. In fact, given that beards are in Skyrim too, it would be incredibly easy.

Great idea. I loved that spider-legged-last of the Dwemer in Morrowind. Lots of mountains in Skyrim so lots of places to hide " The Lost Dwemer City " mod! I always thought that there should have been dwarves in the Elderscrolls as a playable race too. We can call the Dwemer mod Skyrimoria. I like that.

I would think Bethesda would bring Dwemer back anyways. Even if the last dwemer is very sick and weak doesn't mean he can't have some help from you to bring dwemer back or found where they are! :).

Well sure, you could really do anything with a mod. The hard part is making it not svck.

What? The ten they have aren't good enough? That'd be lame if TES had all the same cliché fantasy races every other RPG has.

Yeah it's not cliche at all with elves, orcs, and humans..not that I want the dwemer back but TES has it's own share of cliche.

A mod to play as a Dwemer would have to be pretty in-depth to satisfy me really. As in, you may as well remake Skyrim with them specifically in mind. :P

Personally I don't believe there's any room for them lore-wise, since I'm pretty sold on the idea that they were utterly destroyed in such manner as to make it as impossible as impossible could possibly be to return. And if they weren't, the likelihood of them even WANTING to return is slim. They were tampering with the fabric of the cosmos for a reason, and it didn't involve making Resdayn into a theme park for gods.

Of course, wielding the Soul Calibur isn't lore-friendly either, but still fun as hell. Just not in first-person. Blocks half your view. :P
