I mean they have something where they build up all this hype for a battle and then when you get there thinking "holy crap im in for a huuuuge fight" and then you see like 5 guards and then 3 daedra come out... I dont even understand how that was worthy of a statue being built in my honor... But maybe can avoid that in Skyrim if they cant back up the hype they build... I mean i understand how difficult it is to do what the devs do but i mean if you cant back up your words then its pointless
Meh, Dragons are enough to distract me from otherwise small battles.
I wonder if the Oblivion Gates, themselves, at that battle also slowed things down, a bit. I have Oblivion on my PS3, so I've never done a study there, but on my PC version of Morrowind, which typically runs very smoothly, I encounted some glowing portal that seemed to use similar software technology to an Oblivion Gate and it slowed my game down to a barely tolerable lag (my computer's not very good, but I got a good illustration of negative effects). Anyway, the new engine seems to have been made specifically with optimization in mind (after all, it was made for the same hardware but clearly is more impressive), so I'm sure it will be fine. Again, don't expect a Mount and Blade with Skyrim-level technical processes and graphics, but it should be a bit better than Oblivion's idea of a large battle... and hopefully Skyrim's general framerate will also be better.
