Patch?!?

Post » Tue Sep 21, 2010 10:44 pm

The frame rate in this game makes me want to snap my disc in half. But since i shelled out $65 for this termite infested frisbee, i gotta know. Where is the PS3 patch?

3-4 game freezes for every 3hrs of play time
1-2 game crashes for every 6hrs of play time
Broken missions (Miguel's pawn shop,Heartache by the Numbers just to name a couple)
Teleporting issues when running
VATS delay when in gunfights
Companions disappearing or becoming brainless ninnies
Crimson caravan HQ supplier taking my caps but not giving me what i pay for.
Lucky 38 upgrade boxes eating my salvaged supplies

In the name of everything that is holy, PLEASE fix this awesome game!

You think your clever and funny to tell me to put a patch over my mouth? You could've easily posted your opinion w/o the smarta55 comments.

NO! I will not put a patch over my mouth and shush. I preordered this game months in advance and waited patiently for Oct 19, but only got an unfinished product. I have every right to say what i want, when i want.

If the devs would've taken their time and the testers actually tested, instead of rushing their product onto the shelves in hopes of competing with MOH in sales, this would not be an issue.

Here's another clever (or at least common sensed) response. Get it for PC.

All of these issues are currently 'patched' through mods atm, till the devs can get it taken care of.

FO3 had far more problems on game day, but it turned out to be the GotY, and many people still play it religiously.

Not every studio has the kind of scene cred blizzard or valve does, where they can say, "It's done when it's done" and get away with it. Give these gents a chance to work.

Saying "they need more time" is crap.

It should have been ready to go the second it hit store shelves or at the very least not suffering from the game-breaking crap that people are having.

Few broken quests out of the like hundred wouldn't be anything to throw a fit over, but basic gameplay being broken and main quests being broken is unacceptable.

I've finished the main quest, sans the mods, once already without seeing anything close to a game breaking bug.

In fact, on my first play through, the only bug I came across was not being able to get the virus off the terminals at the brotherhood base.

There isn't a single game that's been 100% the day it hit the shelves in over a decade.

There is no excuse to put out a game in this horrible, buggy condition. Be it that I loved my playthrough, bugs and all, its still obvious that FO:NV lacks polish and proper testing before it was released. The hope that future patches will correct the mistakes is hardly a comfort for those poor saps unable to play the game they paid for.

What the hell is everyone complaining about? I've had one crash and like 3 graphical glitches...

Like I said before, every dev studio can't be a valve or blizzard and just release a game whenever they feel like, knowing that the mobs will buy it up just on pure principal. They have to compete, and publishers know this. This is why they force games out before every single bug is tested out of the code. In a perfect world, there'd be no issue. There'd be no bugs, and publishers would keep handing out cash till the game was perfect.

There's just no way around this.

Just go to the other forums and read what horrible problems some of the players have. The worst one seems to be a bug that rends your savegames corrupted and halts all further progress with that character. That is not a glitch. Strangly I never crashed during my playthrough but I did encounter lots of small bugs, enough to convince me that this game was released far too early.
( There is a good list on both the PC and Xbox-forum if you really want to know why people complain. )

It may very well be that youre right, but it′s still sad if an studio′s only way to compete is to release a faulty product. That will only hurt the industry in the end.

Edit: spelling.

yeah, we no longer need to see your bs comments, kiss there A** all you want. Yeah i agree, we should not be over doing it on the flaming, but these people have the right to complain. The testers should be doing there job and the company should be making sure they are doing it, which both have failed. Lot's of these 'basic' bugs and glitches should not even be in this game such as bugs with quest,saving/loading. So maybe the devs would not be getting so much crap, if they did there jobs a little better.

I love fallout, so Obsidian and Bethesda lets not make these same mistakes on the next one. Give us some good "FREE" DLC, Some patches asap and i am good and ready to play new vegas.

Don't complain about Complainers. There's so much of that in this thread that I'm going to lock it.
