Keeping Everything - Hoarders

Post » Wed Sep 22, 2010 10:37 am

Does anyone else find themselves being a complete hoarder. I sort of did it in Fallout 3 but I am just collecting everything new I find in FONV. I do not sell much at all now. I am trying to see at the end of my playing how many different types of things I get.

I am using the penthouse in Lucky 38 and I have started arranging stuff in categories and in different rooms.

I have a room for:
- All types of regular ammo guns
- Energy Weapons
- All the aid category items (stimpacks, rad-x, psycho, etc) excluding food
- Every type of strange food gets its own room (like iguana sticks, steaks, cram, apples, carrots etc)
- Melee weapons
- All the different outfits I have gotten are all in a line in the bed room
- And a room for all the fun random stuff like baseball gloves, pool cues, teddy bears, baseballs, money, cigarettes, etc etc

Please tell me someone else does this so I do not feel to weird.

Yup I do this too. I have everything organized in my Novac hotel room. I usually sell stuff I have a lot of but I still hoard everything I find valuable or unique.

I kinda did this in 3 (especially with teddy bears, my bed was covered in bears big and small lol) but I haven't gotten a house in NV yet so I just sell anything I won't be needing. The caps help me buy things I can survive with like ammo and guns.

Yup. I actually got over 10,000 pounds of various things in Fallout 3, stored in a personal vault. I am really hoping that someone makes an auto-sorting storage building in New Vegas, so that I won't have to handle such things myself. The Long Haul perk is going to be important to me, as is Jury Rigging. In just about every RPG I have played, I will simply hoard anything and everything that can be picked up. Fortunately, I have become resistant to picking up Tin Cans, but still...

Intact... now you got me wondering... (I am not on game right now so cant see)

I know that I do have a gnome, he is next to the teddy bears, I think he was in that shack near some gold mine on the east side.

I don't collect the misc stuff, but I love having one set of everything in armor, and one of everything in weapons.

I loved the Oblivion mod that gave you mannequins that wore the armor sets and held weapons. Can't wait till one gets released for NV. I'll mod in a separate treasure room in my presidential suite, just to showcase it all.

there was actually one point in fallout 3 where I would pick up anything, no matter what it was tin cans, empty bottles, anything and keep it, I built so many weapons like 10 of each

Yeah, I do not pick up anything of that little value unless I do not have 1 of them. I only keep 1 of items like tin cans.

I am a hoarder for sure. I keep everything I can and if I get a duplicate of something I already have that is in mint condition I sell it.

I love to collect stuff, but it's certain items (weapons, some armor, ammo, etc.) that I like.

Ya gotta sell something for caps.

I need a place for all my stuff. Right now I have no player home, and I'm constantly on my weight limit.

Oh yes - I'm a hoarder IRL too (you do not want to know what my guest room looks like). In the games I always take the Fortune Finder perk or whatever it's called, the one that gives you more caps in random loot, because I don't sell very much.

Yeah, I generally hoard the more unique stuff like the space suit, That Gun and any other named items like the named bandana or helmets, etc.

I've just started my hoarding. Once you get a foot hold it is nice to grab all the unique stuff you can find. :)

I just keep the new stuff (for FNV) until I find out if it’s rare or not.
