I remember alwaya looking for new info on NV a few months before it came out

and with hardcoe mode they said you would get something special for beating all the way through on hardcoe..

I did on the 360 and got the dumb achievement, id rather you actually got something
i was mainly hoping for like being able to continue playing after the credits or something

I guess im fine with the achievement but i was hoping for something that has some sort of in game use.

So was there actually anything special or just the achievement?

achieeeeevement. This was actually one of the easier achievements the game has to offer. Desert survivalist took me ages, but like mah pokemans, I got em all.

They said you would get an achievement several times IIRC.

But your real reward was the ability to play through on much superior hardcoe mode.

Why should we get a special award for playing the game on a slightly harder difficulty setting?

Isn't the experience alone worth it?

I believe the only reward for completing hardcoe Mode is bragging rights.

And the ability to run through other playthroughs stimpack-spamming.

It's kind of funny - "hardcoe" on New Vegas is basically what Fallout and Fallout 2 had as their regular modes - in terms of ammunition having weight, broken limbs being serious business and companions being permanently killable (hell, it was even harder because they'd randomly go hostile on you if you accidentally hit them during combat). The only thing missing was having to eat and drink - which is kind of a moot point in New Vegas since neither food nor water are anywhere near scarce enough to make it a serious problem. And even if you run out of bottled water, you can just drink directly out of a lake or a stream or a toilet (though that's kind of a cool touch, I've got to admit).

In short - hardcoe New Vegas was a piece of cake. What I'd really like is some kind of special reward for beating the first two games.

only 6.7% of people who have played F: NV on steam have made hardcoe. so i agree there are bragging rights. I just did it finally. my first run through I was in the options and accidently hit hardcoe off. immediately set it back. when i finished the game, no hardcoe. bummer! but on this run through I got it.
