Unable to browse Fallout 3 GOTY DVDs. Unable to install.

Hello.

I've spent a fair bit of time going through this forum and haven't found a specific fix related to my issue which is this; my GOTY edition, which worked fine previously, won't install on my Windows7 Home Premium x64 PC. I can't even see the contents of either DVD and they won't autoplay.

The discs are clean, as is the drive, they run OK on another PC and other discs run on this DVD drive (Lite-on DH20A1S) just fine.

I get the same issue in Safe Mode, I've tried rebooting, updating Windows7, uninstalling & reinstalling the DVD driver (Window7 standard), turning off DMA, forcing DMA through BIOS, turning off autoplay and I don't have Nero or any drive emulators running. The are no CRC errors in the event logs when trying to browse the discs and the DVD drive firmware is up to date; Windows7 just thinks there isn't a disc in the drive.

I'm fairly convinced at this stage that SecuROM is the issue. The SecuROM troubleshooting is of no use as it assumes the game is already installed.

Does anyone have any ideas of other things to try other than buying the game on Steam or buying a new DVD drive?

Thanks for your time.
