Sell a slayed Dragons skin?

Post » Sat Oct 09, 2010 1:22 pm

Ok, we know we can kill dragons and take there soul. We haven't got that much info about how the whole soul thing works but what do you guys think about looting the dragons body and like using the parts to help you or sell them. Like you could take the dragons heart and take it to a smith and he would make like a special wring enchantment with it. Or you could take its skin and make a special armor out of it. Or perhaps eat the dragons meat? Also, what about selling like Dragon Horns or Fangs. Perhaps the skin of the wing to make canvas? On the lines of what I just said, what do you guys think?

I don't see why not as you can pretty much do the same with most other creatures.

Edit: ^^ nevermind.

From what we've seen in the trailer it seems dragons combust when we kill them, so it looks like the only thing you'll be able to loot is dragon ashes

Probably says elsewhere, but I think I read it in OXM, they said the effect was really impressive when the body burned to ash.

:ninja: 'ed.

I don't see any reason why a dead dragon shouldn't be something that offers such valuable resources. Think about, dragons haven't been around in Tamriel for quite some time, millenia I believe, so anything you can get off of them should be worth a great deal to just about anyone. Fangs, talons, eyes, the hide, the wings, the heart, tail spikes, you name it we should be able to take it.

If it's not in-game, I will mod it in short order. Maybe I'll get lucky and be the first one. :P

EDIT: ...

Not cool Bethesda. Not cool.

well seeing as dragons are sorta of the oblivion gates of oblivion; you should be able to plunder something off them that gives you an enchantment equivalent to a sigil stone. Just my opinion though.

You are getting their souls, which are giving you the opportunity to learn a very powerful language. I think that's pretty good.

Probably going to be a lot harder than if I just had to create some ingredients and add them to the dragons. Unless it's scripted, then I can just turn it off.

From a modding stand-point, this has me worried. From a playing stand-point, this pisses me off.

As said by Dragonborn1, you already get something from slaying a dragon; The ability to find words upon the various walls throughout Skyrim, in which you'll be able to form Dragonshouts.

Way better than a sigil stone ;)
