Companions comparison: Boone vs. Veronica? : Fallout: New Vegas

I never understood why anybody would pick Boone at the start anyway. He svcks so much with that hunting rifle that it isn't even funny. He can't aim with it and whenever he does, he barely does damage. (This is a reference for only at the start, level 5'ish)

Veronica, just picked up, already packs a punch. She at least has more than 1 dialog whenever you force her to be your mule.

I've never tried Boone at later levels, so meh.

You're Boone must be buggy or something, or perhaps doesn't fit your playstyle at all. I've watched him at lvl5-6 take out 8-9 sentry/gusty robots while I stood behind him and watched, as well as all the legion spawns near Novac and within Nelson, with his hunting rifle and 2DT armor. But he's not invincible...I did have to give him a few stimpacks.

I swear the God, right as we left Novac to Boulder City, he would miss non stop.

Boone is wicked deadly at scopin' and droppin', Veronica is wicked deadly at knocking blocks off.

Both are awesome companions.

With the characters, I think it's all situational. I've seen Boone kick ass in one instance and I've seen Veronica kick ass in another. I just like Veronica better 'cause of her wit and dialogue. As far as "who's better," for me, choosing between Boone and Veronica is like who I want as teammates in basketball. Sometimes I want someone who's an inside threat. Sometimes I want someone to shoot lights out.
