For the glory of the NCR... or not

Post » Mon Oct 18, 2010 1:00 pm

I have just finished the main story and loved it, I worked for the good of the ncr but was very tempted to work for mr house, but after his whole autocrat speech I knew he had to die, the guy was a little to insane.

I can't really say what it was about NCR that drew me to them, but I have always been a fan of the more military oriented factions, it was also fun putting the brotherhood in a boot licking position with them to :D

So what faction did you side with and why what attracted you to your chosen faction

IMO, I didn't want to side with anyone. I finished with the legion, went to an older save killed them. Sided with Yes man finished went to an older save. Next play through I'll do NCR, I really don't like them though.

I want to side with myself, Rex, Lily and I can take down deathclaws with ease, the legion with even more ease, the NCR would be a joke. I think I could take the dam >:D. Securitrons are a joke too.

My fisrt playthrough, I sided with House, but this go-around I'm with the NCR. I hate Colonel Moore, though.

NCR no doubt. The Legion just make everyone slaves. With Yes Man there is pretty much no government or law. House just cares about money so everywhere besides the strip will be lawless. With the Ncr there are bad things like no guns, heavy taxes but they are the only ones with real order, government, and Democracy.

I choose Yes Man, he's beast.

Also, NCR are the best? Pffft they send their "elite" units after you just because they don't like you, or you don't like them. That's not democracy right there! That's comunism!(Chinese style, aka not good. Russian communism=pro :P)

There are plenty of bad things about NCR, their expansionistic greed just to name one, But they are the best option. With an independant New Vegas there is no law, no government, just survival of who can shoot who first.

And thats why house is the best. The ncr is to weak, it growing would just spread the weakness to the mojave. No house is best, rob co knowlage, with the income from the strip. He dosent want fame or power, he stopped the nukes hitting vegas. Whats not to like ?

With Yes man yes it would be, but Mr. House is different.

His greed for glory would make the whole world a nice place. Maybe humans could settle in space? Only bad thing is you don't see his face, but that don't matter cause he has a Myspace. He's so smart when limbs break he don't need a brace, he is the greatest of the whole human race.

The House Always Wins baby!

Alright...I'll address all 4 factions since I've sided with all four factions.

NCR: I'm a Fallout 1 and 2 veteran so I sided with the NCR for good times sake. But now that I examine it when I'm older, I just never understood why I liked the NCR in Fallout 1 and 2. I'm not the whole "democracy" type anyways and admire some points of old world government(specifically Rome and China) more than other points in democracy. Besides, I never really liked any President in the NCR other than Tandi so Kimball can go get [censored].

Yes Man: A good choice mind you. But again, I don't think I'm suited to run New Vegas. Maybe I'm suited to if I were the Courier but I just think the Courier is more of a right hand man guy, fiercely loyal to his boss but nobody other than the "big man" himself is more powerful. Not to mention Yes Man may get a sort of...upgrade that might allow him to take over Vegas. So unless I'm a true scientist or robotics expert, I'm not picking this faction.

Caesar's Legion: As I stated in my NCR commentary, I admire Roman politics to a point. And I like it even more now that the new Julius Caesar has been reborn. I know where Caesar comes from and I admire his power and intelligence. He would be a good ruler when he has Vegas and perhaps will rebuild society in the correct way. Step by step instead of the NCR, who just makes a corrupt democracy. Also, Caesar would most likely make slaves only apply to the NCR soldiers who were caught and perhaps release women as second class citizens or have similar rights to men. Probably the main reason Caesar enslaved the women was because he needed an army to take Vegas and the women would maybe get in the way of that. But when he has Vegas, the army need would diminish significantly.

Mr. House: Now that's where it's at. House is amazing. He puts all the good points of Caesar's Legion and NCR together and mashes it up together in his own way. The intelligence and tactical cunning of Caesar's Legion, the manpower and firepower of NCR, and he has an army that will never falter and never rise up due to his careful, near robot like power over the Strip. Mr. House isn't rebuilding civilization, he's improving it. House is taking humans to SPACE! Something that the NCR or Caesar's Legion could never accomplish. Maybe Yes Man but Yes Man is simply using the blueprints from Mr. House to complete that.
