Is there a Dart Gun?

Post » Thu Oct 28, 2010 6:34 am

I am a huge fan of Fallout3 and so far New Vegas. However, I have not heard of or seen anything that would say there i a dart gun in the game.

Is there?

I hope so because I found it to be the most useful gun in fallout 3 not because of its strength but the number of ways to use it. (fighting deathclaws made easy)

The dart gun only appears in Fallout 3.

I was rather hoping there would be a dart gun also, what with Deathclaws being buffed in NV. 'Spose I'll just have to max my Anti-Material Rifle...

Unless there's some sort of substitute to the Dart Gun? Anyone know of such a thing?

if there was it wouldn't do any good since there aren't any darts.

I did notice no darts on my first play through, but thought maybe there was a substitute weapon that could be crafted etc.

It isn't quite as good, but one of the "Mother Darkness" poison's effects is -3 Agility.

If the models are still in GECK (in the NewVegas ESM file) as well as all the scripts and special effects - it might be possible to easily mod it back in.

I heard that you can apply poisons to your bullets. Not sure how I havent figured that out yet nor have I seen it listed at the camp fire or at the reloading bench to apply chemicals on the bullets. But I do recall some of the devs stating that on video previews.

The only crafted weapon to carry over seems to be the Bottlecap Mine. I don't think there are any schematics in this game. If you activate a workbench, you can see all the crafting recipes (required components and skill requirement). No Dart Gun or any other FO3 crafted weapon listed (other than the BM).

There are definitely schematics. I've found one for the Rock-It Launcher, and another for... I don't remember at the moment, but it was a schematic for something. :P Not a Dart Gun though.

That is what I kept hearing on videos where hte devs were talking about the game. I mean I think it would be pointless to craft the poision if you cant apply it to something to get it to your enemy.

There is also a schematic for a neon sign. Not sure what the point of it is but I did find it and steal it.

Okay, cool. I haven't seen any schematics yet. With the revamp of the workbench to show the recipes, I figured that was everything you could make at the workbench. Nice to know there are still some surprises out there in the Mojave Wasteland.
