why ED-E why?

I am trying to help rex and get him to follow me to Jacob's town but it won't because ed-e is following me. Earlier on i was doing the volare mission and i just got done killing the ants so i left the generator room told her i did the job and noticed ed-e wasn't with me. So i wen to where it told me where he is and he has vanished, it's like he is in a new relm. It only shows him on the world map not the local. Now i am trying to get Rex to follow me but he can't, It even said he died. Am i screwed or is there a way?

Do you still have ED-E's perk? If so, use the elevator at Vault 22

Sounds like you might have to reload to an earlier save before you lost ED-E

Try to fast travel. If you are still at Nellis fast travel there or to the hangars. If that doesn't work (it should if you have the 1.02 patch) do as Trizzip says and go to Vault 22 and use the elevator. If you haven't been there yet and are not on the PC you may want to go back to a save before you lost him.

If you are on the PC you need to know which ED-E you have:

1. Original ED-E = 0010c769
2. Follower's fix ED-E with new cannon = 001694E2
3. BoS fix ED-E with new armor = 001694E0

First type: prid
Then type: moveto player

If that doesn't work try: player.moveto

Using the "Disable" "Enable" "Kill" "Resurrect" sequence is a last resort.

Do you have the latest patch? (1.02)

Sounds like you need to go back to an earlier save

The Wastes are dangerous. Save early and often.

To add onto that, also always have more than one Save file. I usually have two to three for each character I play through with.

You want odd behaviour?

I did the console command to return Ed-E to me, without doing the kill/resurrect thing, and subsequently wound up with 2 Ed-E's.

Did you use the "PlaceAtMe" command? "Moveto" should not spawn a new character. Neither should "Enable" or "Resurrect." as they target the RefID. Using the BaseID for a unique NPC is not recommended.

In the Console, click on each ED-E. The one with the RefID that doesn't match the list is the counterfeit. Just issue the Disable command while his ID is displayed.

More often than not, everyone cries "bug" or reload or go to Vault 22. Most likely, you left him somewhere INSIDE.

If ED-e is inside a building or room, he will show up on the World Map, but won't show up on the local map until you are also in the same interior location he is. Track him down with the World, then systematically search out all possible load rooms. Granted, it could be a bug . . . but probably isn't.
