So, I have the Mark of Caesar and I'm going to The Fort for the very first time.. I have Veronica with me.

As I enter The Fort and try to go meet with Caesar so I can find Benny and kill him for his fancy Maria then grab the Platinum Chip.. everyone in all of The Fort becomes hostile towards Veronica and I while I'm wearing a Legion disguise. I don't understand why at all.. since from what I remember, the Mark of Caesar is supposed to give you a '2nd chance' with the Legion - though I am currently Vilified by them.

I donno what the problem is. I'm thinking of reloading a save from right before I got to Cottonwood Cove (specifically right after I got the Gobi). The only reasoning I could find online for this confusing fiasco is that having a companion can cause issues while you're disguised. Other than that, I have no idea how I'm supposed to defeat approximately 20 Legion folk while I've had all my weapons confiscated except for a Combat Knife, 4 packs of C4, and a .44 Revolver.. with Veronica's die-fast self.

Anyone else have a problem with the Legion becoming hostile whilst holding the Mark of Caesar, being disguised, etc.?

Veronica is BoS I think she hates the legion, most companions will fight the legion and leave if you join them, try leaving her behind.

I think I figured it out.

I was scrolling through all my completed quests and found "Render Unto Caesar" listed.. though at this point with my save file I've ever even met Caesar yet.

So, apparently I managed to fail it after I received the Mark of Caesar - making Legion hostile and apparently the only way I'll ever meet Caesar or get the platinum chip is if I manage to take a companion with me to The Fort and blast our way through a couple dozen Legionaires. I'm a pretty hardcoe NCR supporter too.. so this sounds fun. mwahaha

Thats perhaps once cause of it. The only other thing I can think of, ( unaware if you solved the problem already ), is after receiving the Mark from Mr. Inculta, you continued on your merry path, killing and dominating Legion troops and such. Before receiving the Mark, you can kill as many as you want, as far as I know, but after getting it, should you continue to piss them off, thats it, theyll be forever hostile towards you. Mr. Inculta puts it correctly when he says, the favor of the Mighty Caesar will not be extended a second time.

I've been to the fort w/ veronica and had no attacks.
