How to kill dragons

Post » Fri Nov 05, 2010 1:45 pm

How do you think we kill the dragons? they are so much bigger then the character we play it cant simply be run at it with a sword and start swinging away. You can probably use the dragon shouts once you have them but you need to kill at least the first dragon before you get to that.

First dragon slayed will probably be assisted with the help of Esbern. After that it'll be a good mixture of shouts and whatever playstyle you're rolling with.

i wanted to make my character a battlemage that uses destruction. but i dont think shooting fireballs at a dragon would do much good

The flamethrower combo could be effective.

I'm pretty sure all play-styles are effective against Dragons, otherwise you'd have an unbalanced game.

Wearing it down with dodging and quick H2H strikes until it crashes. Then some dodging of it's breath weapon shout and striking at the neck. A swift roundhouse to the neck to finish it off. That's how my monk is going to do it, and it'll be EPIC. (I continue to have faith that H2H will be in!)

It's painfully obvious. You take out your readily available Experimental MIRV (with an appropriate supply of readily available mini nukes) and...Oh wait, wrong game. Sorry. Use of dragon shouts and swords seems to be an effective strategy.

One demo article mentioned that standing in a dragon's fire didn't seem to be all that lethal. I expect dragons to be hard only in an Oblivion fashion: It would be nice if the fights were innately challenging but they'll probably just have a lot more health and do a bit more damage than the average bear.

Being dragonborn probably entails a level of fire resistance, like in the trailer. Where is this article?

Yeah, like we weren't strong enough with just Dragonshouts...

I could be wrong, though. Maybe Dovahkiin, in the trailer, had used a resist fire spell or potion before his battle.

I think you're over thinking this.
Either you can really block fire with shields or he used "tgm".
Or both.

Have you even seen the trailer? After the dragon uses its flamethrower, we see Dovahkiin standing from a crouch and there is fire directly behind him. So, the shield theory is out. And I doubt that "tgm" was used, as the trailer is all Xbox 360 footage (use of console commands is only available on PC). So, the natural fire resistance or the potion/spell theories remain.

Yes I have. Probably around 15 times.
Do you really think they don't have cheats like tgm for a 360 version? They use it all the time while showing a game to an audience. The Oblivion E3 demo for example.
As for it all being 360 gameplay, I'm not buying it.
