Your Alduin speculation/theories

My theory;

After Martin mantled akatosh, it took certain powers away from akatosh. After a couple centuries of rest, that part without those powers became alduin.
And maybe after both parts are destroyed (I'm assuming the martin/akatosh part was destroyed at the end of oblivion), then the two can become whole again.

I'm sure someones already thought of it, but its 6am here, and I haven't been to bed yet. Just kind of popped into my head.

Of course, I'm pretty sure alduin has little to do with akatosh, but this sounds more interesting than "he just exists".

My thoughts: Alduin is big, scary dragon god trying to eat the world. End of story.

Why would you think Alduin has little to do with Akatosh? Alduin is Akatosh. And I'd say Alduin "became" Akatosh. Alduin came first, Imperials just deigned him a friend and so he appears to them as Akatosh and they interpret his intent as benevolent.

Alduin is Akatosh? Have any source on this?
Last I heard it wasn't confirmed.

Alduin (World Eater): Alduin is the Nordic variation of Akatosh, and only superficially resembles his counterpart in the Nine Divines. For example, Alduin's sobriquet, 'the world eater', comes from myths that depict him as the horrible, rauaging firestorm that destroyed the last world to begin this one. Nords therefore see the god of time as both creator and harbinger of the apocalypse. He is not the chief of the Nordic pantheon (in fact, that pantheon has no chief; see Shor, below) but its wellspring, albeit a grim and frightening one.
