Skyrim MAY allow you to ride dragons

Once during the main quest or something is all that I would need.

Lets hope it wont be in Skyrim. If it is it should be an in-game explanation at least.

Are you guys too influenced by World of Warcraft when you want to ride the dragons? Are you guys aware how small the Skyrim map will be? As small as Oblivion. http://unrealitymag.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/large-video-game-worlds2.jpg Not even half of the WoW map. How much time will it take to fly from one end to the other? And, as other said, what will happen when flying over cities, if the cities are empty?

A game with flying should be made with flying in mind from the beginning. If they rush such a feature at fans request, it would only feel clumsy and unpolished. Have you guys played Divinity II Dragon Saga? Yes, you get the control of a dragon, and you know what? It's very clumsy and arcade'ish, I didn't feel not a bit like a real dragon. people are very demanding with Bethesda and their animations. If the dragon animations would not be on par with player animations, people would complain like they did with horses. They wanted horses in the game, then they said they are "crap, stiff like tanks". What makes you think dragons would be easier to control than horses?

My guess based on Todd's comments: dragons can pick you up and drop you...which is more "getting a ride" than "riding". Thus, the "sort of" comment.

Wait... San Andreas was smaller.

A game where you could fly around for quite a while...

As fun as the planes were in San Andreas, they made the map seem tiny to me. Take off from Grove Street and seconds later you're flying over Las Venturas.

Meh... I don't think I would want to ride a dragon. It feels a bit weird, considering the general role that the play. Could give some epic views though :)
We shouldn't dismiss riding dragons fully though. We know all dragons aren't our enemies. There are a few "friendly" dragons.

Edit: Having dragons would instantly make the world feel... a lot smaller though. This should be considered, and for me it's, together with the general dragon role, a deal-breaker. I wouldn't want to be able to ride dragons.

A person riding a dragon is like a goblin riding a human. Dragons are intelligent beings, not livestock.

Lag is NOT your program slowing down (choppy, stuttering, etc.) due to the machine's inability to process the volume of data required at the moment.

Lag IS a delay or slow-down in the transfer of data between machines (internet, LAN, etc.).

There needs to be a PSA on television so that Tech Personnel don't go postal after trying to discern what the heck customers are really talking about. :P

I've speculated that we are going to become a dragon at the end and fight Alduin, and that's what he means by "not exactly" riding dragons. Martin did it against Mehrunes Dagon, so why can't we after eating dragons' souls?
