Ok, now I read through the whole thread, I use Restoration the most not because it's my favorite but because I need to heal alot. Did that in ever game from TES I to IV. In Oblivion I also used Feather the most, not because I like it, but because I was always encombered and it was easy to cast because magica regenerated. So it was the number one skill or spell to use. Couldn't really do that in Morrowind since magika never regenerated.

I loved casting destrutive spells. I just wish fire, ice and electricity wasn't all the same but with a different name. Hopefully Skyrim will have them different. I would like to see fire do spreading damage, ice spells, freeze or slow down enemies and lightining spells spread out as well, in a random order like lighting or what the Emperor did in Return of the Jedi.

I also hope that certian enemies are resistant to certian spells as well again. I can't rememeber if Oblivion did this or not, since I shot fireball spells at everhting and eventually killed them with them.

Favorite would be Destruction because thats how I do most of my damage. Least favorite is Restoration, simply because its the most boring school of magic. Its all about healing and not very interesting.

I used to love mysticism but then they removed teleportation, now they are removing mysticism.
Alteration was a close second, but then they removed levitate and slowfall.
Conjuration is probably my current favorite but god knows how they will screw it up in ES5.
My least favorite is restoration, it is just boring.

Now my most used is probably destruction, I have to throw a lot of fire to kill things. But I may only use one conjuration spell for the duration of the fight. My least used(outside the now non-existent mysticism) is alteration, because it really doesn't do much anymore except open doors and help me get across the occasional stream.

In Oblivion, my personal favorite is illusion, though my magic-using characters all have their own favorites. My personal least favorite is probably alteration - not that I don't use the effects - I just don't much use the spells. The effects are better had through potions or enchantments than through the spells, and they're all relatively mundane utility effects.

I have absolutely no idea how it's going to work out in Skyrim.

I really can't say, but if it's anything like Oblivion, I probably won't even us magic.

I love summoning minions to do my bidding and summoning the lightest, yet most powerful weapons...so conjuration is my favorite, but I use all the magic schools to full effect. I hate carrying heavy bulky equipment everywhere, all I need is a robe and a staff and I'm good.

Unless I find the magic system in Skyrim to be... enjoyable, let's say, I'm not even going to delve into spell-casting. I'm really hoping that, at the very least, being able to Enchant my own items, and without having to dedicate my character to that end (meaning make them a focused magic-user as opposed to a warrior) just to perform the task, I'll likely be doing a lot of that. Finding out how useless the skill was in Morrowind was really disappointing, as my first character was pretty much centered around enchanting items, and so didn't work out very well. If it isn't very fun, then I can look forward to being a total tank once more. Hopefully that'll be interesting enough this time around, because sometimes I tire of not being able to enjoy being a magic-user in even the best of RPGs.

My favorite is Destruction, but I'll be using Restoration the most (mele mage) so i Voted for restoration.
The one that i wont be using at all will be illusion, I'll rely on my stealth skills and potions instead of it.

Sorry Bethesda - you bring back Enchantment when I really didn't like it in the first place

Realistically restoration is likely to get used the most by me - keeping companions alive, my horse if I have one and myself - especially since you now have a potion limit and i can't keep chugging them back and you also won't let me run backwards fast enough

There should be options for using all schools equally. I don't really stick with a particular school, but I like all schools and use spells from each one. Depends on my mood.
