Bethesda better give us a freebe for putting up with the bug

Post » Sun Nov 21, 2010 3:39 pm

Thirding this. Obsidian and Bethesda owe us nothing but a patch to fix as much as possible. All this talk of free DLC is disgusting and the people saying it should feel terrible about themselves.

Adding my name to that list.

This is a great idea, Im afraid to even play the game just in case it messes up my game saves.

I tried to take the game back to Gamestop. They would not give me my money back. I'm so angry since I anticipated this game for so long, and then wasted 30+ hours on this game only to get corrupted saves. I'm afraid to play it anymore because who knows when a gamebreaking bug will dump my hard work down the crapper.

I definitely understand the frustration with stuff like this. Playing games should be fun. You shouldn't have to worry about corrupted saves or game-breaking bugs.

I'm sure most of us knew the game was buggy before we bought it. Most of the reviews mentioned many game-breaking and non-game-breaking bugs. I myself bought the game knowing it would be buggy. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that it wasn't that buggy, but even if it was, I wouldn't be angry at Obsidian since I knowingly bought a game that was recognized for its bugs.

They should create a new Radroach guarding this new, free piece of kit somewhere in the Wastes. I mean, an oversized guardian type roach.

Players will then get a chance to beat the ultimate bug in order to get something they want. That'd rock some, and would also be funny.

I tell you this much. I'm never preordering a bethesda or obsidian title again. I'll just wait a year for the majority of the bugs to be fixed and buy a used copy. It seems they're not in the habit of releasing a finished product. I'm not really in the mood to pay good money to be their beta tester. This is just sloppy and unprofessional. I've been a fallout fan ever since the first game. This is the first time I've ever been disappointed. Thanks a lot. :(

70 hours of gameplay (PC) and I've only run into problems that are easily fixed after doing a little research. Which to me makes me reply to this thread with

QQ moar.

Bugs and glitches are to be expected, and they generaly don't bother me too much. What is unexpected and inexcusable are these insidious save game corruption bugs that corrupt every single save file after a point, and when you load a non-corrupt save it the corruption starts right back up again. You can't even test for the corruption without rebooting the Xbox because those "corrupt" saves worked just fine (I reloaded a few times at one spot) until I rebooted my Xbox and tried to continue play later.

Opened software is not returnable as a general rule, but people are and stores are accepting this game as a return due to the severity of the bugs. Bethesda as the publisher should offer us something as a show of good faith to ask us not to return the game for a full refund.

You know, I once bought a brand new car. I paid cash for it. I believe it cost 26,000 or so. I put 100 miles on it and it broke down. Would not budge. I called them and they came and towed it back to town. About 3 days later I got to go to town and pick it up. I drove it about 20 miles toward home and it broke down again. Same exact problem as the first time. They ordered a new part and a week later I once again got to go back to town and pick it up. I was a bit miffed. They had my 26,000 dollars and I had a broken care for almost two weeks. But you know what? They fixed it and that is all they were required to do and it was under warranty.

I just can't get too worked up over a $60 game that isn't working quite right. I know they are planning to get it fixed as soon as possible. It's already been patched and promises of additional patches can be found in a pinned thread at the top of the page. I'm happy and trust they will come forward with a fix just as my car was fixed and I've driven it for 8 years now. I'm betting this game will be fixed too and a bit of patience might just do you all a bit of good. At least you won't get an ulcer then.

You most likely had the legal right to return the car under the "lemon laws".

Though speaking of cars, I had bought a Hyundai Sontata several years ago, and there was an indeed a class action lawsuit for misrepresenting the horse power or some such. Hyundai gave me an extra three years on the warranty. In another words, Hyundai screwed up and they made ammends.

Oh, and I came here to post right after another hard lock, but game freezing I expect and it doesn't bother me that much. Having all five save files I made durring an eight hour period become corrupt does annoy me.

Well, ever since that disaster that was the game release of FNV (I have had a good experience with it though) the devs have completely vanished from these forums

Nope, lemon law does not kick in until the third problem. It was fixed after the second time and they offered no free oil change nor seat covers nor even a bumper sticker in return for the weeks I had to wait to enjoy my car.

I don't really think we necessarily 'deserve' anything for the game being in the state it's in, and I certainly don't think we'll get anything; If they didn't bother to even acknowledge that all of the PipBoys they sold with the FO3 Survival Edition had a manufacturers defect that prevented them from working more than a few weeks, and many were actually physically broken.... I'm actually stunned and disappointed they never bothered to address that, given how much money it was. If they owe me anything, it's a new Pip-boy that works. HEAR THAT BETHESDA, I'M STILL WAITING.....

I am about 72 hrs in so far the game froze 4 times , got stuck in a rock twice and lot ed in a rock one time ., I had a bad load going to the rocket test site where a glowing Goul was not there in the save then appeared 5 ft in front of me in the load also in the same area I had several problems with the cowboy repeater taking 2-3 minutes loading as I run around trying to dodge a ghoul and can't switch guns or fire . I firmly believe there is no such patch . These problems where around for fallout 3 so they had years to fix them .I think they are part of the engine and can't be fixed unless you totally replace the engine .Do you truly think that oops they missed these bugs for 3 years and NOW they can fix them in a week ? I wish they had allowed us to know the bugs where still present from F3 so I could have bought the game in x box format not ps3 . Like I say, I still enjoy this game bugs or not so I hope they will add lots of DLC and meanwhile work on a new engine because I think the wost thing that could happen is no more fallout games ... That would truly svck

I don't care about any premiums. If the bugs are fixed to an acceptable level that is enough.

When people are catered to beyond what is initially advertised it just makes for entitled customers and those are the worst.

Sorry.

I just want a fair deal. That's all.
