Perks & Level Cap.

Post » Fri Nov 26, 2010 10:09 am

Personally, i haven't heard a thing about skyrim except for the typical basic knowledge. I haven't heard anything about character selection or races or anything
But thats not what im concerned about. I want perks, cause if anyone remembers in TESV there was no perks and the game gave you specific options for your
Skills when you leveled up. I'd like to see the FO style in the new Elder scrolls game. But thats just me.

If anyone has any idea what the level Cap. or any perks will be please post.(:

ive heard that the level cap is 50 but you can go to 70, however it becomes hard after level 50, and their are over 280 different perks, so you can never have them all, some perks include allowing maces to do additional bleed damage, once you have hit your opponent

Last count I saw, was over 280 perks will be in the game. Each will be tied to a specific skill, and will likely be in a tree format (with both skill level and previous perks as requirements.) They will not be the same ones that you saw in FO, they will be fitting to a TES game.

As for level cap, leveling slows drastically after level 50, but you can get all of your skills to 100. This will allow a final level in the 70's somewhere.

There's a search bar for a reason, use it.

Yes there will be perks, soft cap is level 50, no hard cap but mathematical cap is in the 70s.

That's for axes I believe. Maces get armour 'penetration', and swords get increased critical damage chance.

Yeah, you're on it right now. If information about Skyrim exists, it's somewhere in this very forum.

http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1176851-skyrim-information/ might be a decent starting point.

I thought the cap was 50, but when Joystiq said in their description of the demo they posted on Bethblog.com, the cap was 25, they didn't mention it being a hard or soft cap, so I have no idea. I hope that it will be at 50, level 25 is much too low for me. The cap in Fallout 3 really messed up the game, and confused to the point of turning the game off and pondering what the hell happened for an hour when I hit the level 20 cap, then I got Broken Steel and that only provided a few more hours of satisfaction. None of the other reviews (or whatever you would like to call them) said anything about the cap being at level 25, lets just hope the level 25 thing was just a typo.

This information is easily available if you'd just look for it.

There is a soft level cap of 50. You can continue to level up after that point but much more slowly and you won't get any more perks, just stat increases.

There are roughly 280 perks as of last count according to Todd Howard, with the implication that there may be more implemented before they enter the final beta stages.

The whole game is scaled to level 50. unlike say OB where by level 30 the highest level items were available ( and then only DB rewards and maybe the odd item or two were maxed, everything else topping out at 20-25 ), and all the monsters appeared about level 23, so levelling to 50 was a bit pointless. There should be enemies up to level 50, you can to about 70 to become godlike if you want, but raising level above 50 takes much longer, Also, it is designed to go faster, supposedly taking the same time to get to 50, as it did to get to level 25 in OB.
With 280 perks between 18 skills, that 15 or 16 per skill, but the constellations for each perk seem to have about 9 or 10 stars for different perks, so some perks will have 2 or 3 levels of power.

There is a list of articles relating to skyrim on their blog http://bethblog.com/. You might have to look on older pages to find them but they are there. Look at game informer's hub for February.
