oh ive got an idea you get a pickaxe and you start smashing someones head with it until ore comes out of his pockets lol

I really like the Equip pickax and smash rock until you get ore thing. I also think that veins shouldn't be a lump of rock sitting on the floor like it is in some games. It should be in the walls of caves.
I hope that finding ore is scaled so I can make iron armor at level 47 if I want to.

would be alot of fun to explore abandoned mine shafts (abandoned because a large beasts lives in the depths of the cave) and start to mine the walls in search of ore vains. and once you got all the ore out of one cave it wouldnt respawn back. it would be lots of fun traveling in search for the next hidden mother load
