The Elder Scrolls Theme Song Tribute (Helion Tide Mashup)

Post » Fri Dec 17, 2010 9:13 pm

As the title says, I come bearing gifts! :) I've been producing original electronic and cinematic music for about 3 years now, and I couldn't help but notice how many TES theme song tributes there are out there! Very awesome stuff.

=====

Here's a little something I whipped up to add to the hype that is The Elder Scrolls. It is a mashup of the Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim theme songs, including my own personal touch to bring it all together. This contains stems from the official Morrowind and Oblivion soundtracks, as well as being heavily based on Skyrim's main theme in all its Nordic choir glory.

Note: Credit and thanks to the incredibly talented Jeremy Soule for composing these songs. I meshed these soundtrack stems together in a way that I thought added a little extra dynamic and emotion to add to the hype for Skyrim. Copyright belongs to Jeremy Soule and Bethesda Softworks.

As well, a personal thank you goes out to Bethesda for creating the most beautifully crafted and mesmerizing game worlds I have ever experienced.

Be sure to leave some feedback if you get a chance! I'd love to hear what you all think! Once the official soundtrack for Skyrim is released, I will probably do another tribute mix from scratch, considering I'll have higher quality audio to work with. Either that, or do it 100% from scratch and remix some of the songs by hand with my own instruments and synths. That sounds like more fun, actually. So expect more from me down the road in regards to Skyrim theme song goodness.

=====

Also, if anyone is interested, I remixed the Galaxy Map theme song from Mass Effect 1 & 2 a little while back (produced and remixed 100% by me, no audio or soundtrack stems used) A nice example so you'll all know what to expect regarding my capabilities of replicating music from the ground up using my own studio and instruments, come time to do it for Skyrim! :celebration:

Oh, and a thank you also goes out to user ChuckOfSparta for the inspiration when he posted a thread about a different theme song tribute earlier :)

Enjoy !!

Not bad, I think its one of the better TES Theme meshes I've heard so far. The intro specifically sounded nice with the harsh chanting giving its rythm.

Thanks mate.. It's really nothing special, though. Took me about 45 minutes. Once I get some higher quality audio, I'll do it proper justice and really dig in and add my own flavour with some original touches and what not. Thanks for listening :)

Thanks mate! Glad you enjoyed it. I plan on re-producing some Elder Scrolls music eventually.. produce my own versions of them from scratch with some of my free time using synthesizers and what not. We'll see :)

And yeah, I don't remember the last time I was this excited for a video game.. Fallout 3 was up there.. but Skyrim definitely tops the anticipation list.

Good job. :tops: You should try adding the trailer to the video if you can.

Thanks! And yeah, good idea, actually. I was thinking about reproducing the MW/OB/Skyrim theme altogether with my own twist. We'll see what I come up with!

I'm sure I'll think of something before 11.11.11 :)
