Spears, and armor

No. Spears are not needed in the game. Too much work for such a little thing that no one will ever use. Spears aren't going to be in. And I'm happy with Bethesda's decision.:ahhh:



None of that is going to be in Skyrim. :facepalm:



Actually spears have been confirmed as being in the game, but Todd said they would, as of the time it was brought up, "not be used in the conventional sense" which probably means they will be more of a pole arm then a thrown weapon, as for all the work it would entail, thats plain silly if they wanted them, it would be very little work considering they were used quite actively in fallout NV, as for the armors, we just dont know yet either way, we still have to wait and see.

a Spear not in the Traditional sense isnt a spear...its a Halberd or Pole arm, if it does not THRUST it is not a spear....just another example of PR talk....just say no there won't be spears.......

Did someone mention Fallout: New Vegas? You do know that FNV was developed by Obsidian Entertainment, a company that is composed primarily of people from the defunct Black Isle Studios (the makers of Fallout 1 and 2). Spears in FNV were based on spears from Fallout 1 and 2.

Also, I think it would be pretty hard to come up with perks for spears; this is probably why Bethesda is leaving them out of Skyrim.

EDIT: Whatever spears can do, arrows and blades can do better. :whistling:

Try saying that while running down a narrow hallway with dozens of....trolls swiping at you, not to mention you can't backpedal and shoot arrows like in Oblivion.

Why would trolls swipe at me? They'll be bowing down to me and kissing the floor that I stand on.

No. He probably meant spears will be used as static objects (heads on poles)...not as weapons. Spears are confirmed not to be in the game. It would just be too much work. They have to do the animations...perks...and so on.

Not really. You could use spears as melee weapon in Fallout 1 and 2, you can't in FNV.

Personally, I would rather stab people with spears, not just throw them...

The whole time we were talking about spears on this thread and other threads...I had no thought about throwing spears. I thought we were talking about melee spears. :facepalm:

Yeah, it's not like in that game it worked just like every other weapon, except it was extended by a pole...

So we should remove claymores, axes, daggers, maces and hammers, because they are just basically the same as longswords with a small difference.
