Dress up Skyrim

Post » Wed Jan 05, 2011 1:23 am

Now from months ago we were introduced to the "Havok system" at the same time we found out about havok cloth. To my knowledge we haven't had any news on if they're adding havok cloth or not, my thinking is very likely yes. That being the case would you like a large assortment of cloth options and an easy to manage dressing area in your home which you'll eventually buy. That being said what kind of cloths would you like, should they change male to female, should they be able to be worn under/over your armor, should you be allowed to choose weather the cloths go under or over, should they be enchantable, and lastly should you be able to make them (via a skill or not) yourself?

As long as there are proper cloaks then I'm happy.

clothes should ripple when you walk. so should skin. it would make the game look reeeally cool. like when you walk your skin and mass moves slightly like it does in real life.

Those little things take data away from other stuff though.

in one shot with a dragon flying above head it looks like dovahkiins robe is flowing, so that is promising
also there was a small amount of cloth physics in Oblivion, so it may be in skyrim

So far I've seen no evidence of real cloth physics in the game. I don't think Oblivion had it at all, either. I'm pretty sure any moving cloth in Oblivion was done by other methods.

If they did have it, though, I just want to see my skirt or robe move properly when I walk. And I would be happy.

I believe Todd mentioned briefly in a throwaway comment in one of the interviews that there would not be any dynamic cloth stuff, which fits with the lack of dynamic hair so far.

As for cloaks, I think they'll only include them if they find a way to do them well without needing dynamic cloth.

Oblivion did have it in 2 separate occasions, one with a deadric quest for the undead (I think it starts with an M)
another was the flag on a ship that was never put into the game

I would like to see battle damage on armour too ie..dents, torn clothes etc...being able to dye your armour different colours would be nice as well. I liked the Morrowind clothing system too, Oblivion didn't have much variety when it came to armour.

Could you tell me the items so I can go look at them? Because I don't recall seeing anything in the game.

A tree or two? For completely dynamic and realistic physics on SKIN and FLESH?

Try "the majority of the game". That kind of thing is not resource-light.

I should very much like a proper cloak but judging from the hair/cloth movment in trailer that'd be a sad negative right now :sadvaultboy:

We'll just have to wait and see, i'm looking forward to finding out what comes out of E3, they're bound to have progressed by leaps and bounds and putting the finishing touches on things.
