Armor "fix" in Skyrim

10 sets of Glass and Daedric each would be more appropriate.

Glass maybe. Daedric should be (Not counting sets forged through smithing skill) 2-4 total sets. Creating your Daedric armor should be an adventure in itself, either through your fastidious dedication to smithing, or exploration.

So i decided to post this as a topic in itself because i felt it wasnt talked about really. I found it frustraiting that there was one glass helm in OB, and basically one daedric armor set in Morrowind. Id like to see Less one time items like that, especially to complete armor sets, and more have a rarity per item, like glass gauntles have a rarity of 70/100 so itll show up 30% of the time or something and helms would have less, like 80-90/100 so 10-20 percent chance of finding.

I only bring this up because i got tired of swimming around the ocean to find that glass helm, just to not find it and not ever find or have full glass equipment besides all glass arrows, dagger, sword (long and short) ect. and only missing that one helmet. it took away from the gameplay imo...

So what do you guys think?

I dont think it should be a % chance of finding, sounds like a random dice roll MMO on gear....id rather have the rare items hand placed in select areas that you have to find for yourself as opposed to getting lucky on a %.

okay, very simple solution:

Allow all armors, even rare ones to be dropable at very low percentages.. so you can get that "yay i got awesome loot feeling"

BUT it doesnt mean they can wear it...

Make perks for levels of armor so early on if they get lucky and find a glass gauntlet. It could be better for them to sell it because they cant get the perk for another 15 levels.

Keep in mind, we now have a Smithing Skill. If you want a specific armor, you will have the means to get it, not matter what.

Agreed...its awesome because now apparently we can pretty much tailor made our armor to how each individual player wants it and what suits them best, adds a lot of immersion to the game.

I'm wondering if we'll be able to do the same with weapons ala the blueprints from FO3...maybe with Smithing we'll be able to craft different sorts of swords, axes, etc? I dunno, maybe asking too much lol.

it would be so much more satisfying in skyrim if you had to go all across skyrim searching for those few rare amour pieces. it makes you feel like you have really earned it.

It doesn't require much skill to put on a gauntlet...
I don't think you should need a perk to put on certain armor types, that would screw up 3/4 of the game for me.

Everything had a % chance of finding except the hand placed stuff. Im just talking about changing the numbers up a bit.
And if you did it the way youre inplying, it would make replayablility horrible on Skyrim, youd know where all the armor is the second time around.

100% agree with this. I hated this in BG: Dark Alliance 2 and the first one where you needed to level up your character to equip items. HATED that.

Daedric is supposed to be rare. Morrowind had one or two sets in the whole game.

Yes, it is.
But i dont like the idea of, "this is where you'll always find this item, no matter what."
I like finding random stuff, but not too overly random, but random enough to give me some rares occasionally, and not all crappy stuff that ill just throw on the floor in a big pile 20 levels from now.

Randomize the rare handplace items every play through, so you dont get the same one each time, but more so a varient of said rare item.

Yes, Running through dungeons only to find at the end a helmet you will be replacing in the next few levels by equips you are finding almost every other minute was stupid. If I take the time to go exploring the deepest caves I want to be rewarded for it. Not just a pat on the back.

I disagree. Armour should be available no matter what level you are, but the percentage to find one should be far, far lower. So when you're level 11 you might stumble upon a glass gauntlet, and jump up and down in joy for that tiny piece of precious armour.
I mean, just so you can walk into a dungeon and feel that you might get some sort of epic piece of weaponry or armour, rather than going in there and knowing the best you can find is a bunch of enchanted steel.

Edit: ^This.

I hated that some stupid bandit was running around in glass or daedric armor.

This. I can't stand that [censored].

But easily modable! :)

I could see this working, where if you want the best armor, you have to have a quest to get it, and make it, and it be this huge like 2 hour quest to get each peice, travelling through each plane of oblivion to aquire each piece.
