Skyrim Anims > Oblivions from what we've seen so far...easily.
I'd kind of expect that, really, because from past experience, while the animations of Bethesda's games tend to be inferior to some other games on the market at their time, they still have been improving over time. Oblivion's animations for example were certainly nothing I'd call good, but I'd at least say they looked better than the ones in Morrowind, and the addition of animations for eating, sitting, sleeping and such was a nice idea, even if most of them were only used in NPCs. And Fallout 3, I'd say is another step up from Oblivion, as to New Vegas, it's not really relevant since it wasn't made by Bethesda, and therefore dues not allow us to judge how Bethesda's animations have progressed.
So I don't see any reason to doubt Skyrim's animations
will be an improvement over Oblivion's, the question is, how big an improvement will it be? Because even if it's an improvement over past Bethesda games, it's still not going to impress people if it doesn't look as good as its competitors. When it comes to business, it's not enough to outdo yourself if you're still behind your competitors. Not that I believe Skyrim won't be successful if it does not have good animations, because past Bethesda games never needed to rely on that to succeed, I'm simply saying that I'm not willing to expect Skyrim to have great animations, that's all.
????? I don't even know what context you are basing that off of. I said that SK was going to have the best graphics there can be while its in development, so I don't know what you want from me man. but I sure don't appreaciate some on saying "oh no not another one of you" as if having a different opinion gave you the right to devalue it.
Too bad Skyrim DOESN'T have the best graphics possible so what you said isn't true anyway, I've already played games that look better than Skyrim, and the game isn't even released yet, Crysis for example has better graphics, not that I'm saying it's a better game than Skyrim, the two games are completely different, but I don't have to feel a game is better than Skyrim to acknowledge that, speaking purely in visual terms, it impresses me more than the screenshots and trailer I've seen of Skyrim. I also know that it's not an open world game, but I would not say that Skyrim's graphics are the limits of what an open world game can do with modern technology either, but that doesn't matter too much. A game doesn't necessarilty need to have the best graphics on the market to look good, and for me, it's enough that the game look good as far as graphics are concerned, I don't expect or demand that it be the next Crysis, and really, I think the only people who are going to complain that the graphics of Skyrim aren't good enough are PC gamers with top of the line PCs that support DirectX 11 and tessellation and whatever other impressive new effects people like to go on about, and don't have a chance to use their PCs to their fullest with Skyrim, and compared to the console markets, that's probably a reletively small audience.
