"Star" bottle caps

Post » Sun Jun 06, 2010 5:37 am

Has anyone collected enough of these to trigger anything? Not including the npc that comes up to you after you collect a few of them, and tells your about the "legend of the treasure". I have about 38 right now, and nothing yet has happened.

I believe it's at 50, from what I recall of a previous thread.

You need 50, the total caps which are hidden (not counting the ones you can get randomly by drinking) is 100.

While we're on the topic of Sunset Sarsparilla, does anyone know where the friggin' key to that locked door at the end of the building is? I scoured the thing for hours with no luck. ;_;

if you mean the red one with the control panel thing on the side, you need to give festus 50 caps and hell give you a [censored] prize and you have to complain and hell unlock the door where the real prize is.

the trigger for the quest is when you speak to the cowboy bot at Sasparila HQ. luckily the caps stay in inventory and don't take any weight. i just turn in 50 caps and went there. there is also another quest linked to that place.

I just have to find my 50th cap. The random bottles aren't being cooperative at the moment and I haven't run across any more random ones just yet. Soon though...
I still grab one of the 'prizes' just for a memento.

Haha, glad I'm not alone in that ;) I also used them as calling cards for my mass murderer. Everyone had a badge put on their briast. Made quite a fun one and I've been considering doing a proper roleplay of a nutjob who goes out of their way to get the prize then finally goes crazy when they realise what it is. Spends the rest of the game murdering people and giving them a badge...could do with some work but sounds kinda fun.
