Flailing in the Air

Post » Mon Jun 14, 2010 10:09 am

In previous Elder Scrolls Games when you jumped off Dive Rock you didn't do a thing. You only stayed in one position during the whole jump.

If you fell from a height, big or small do you think you should be able to wave your arms and legs in the air?

Badass heroes don't flail. Swan dive maybe, lol.

That would look good but I don't really care if it's in the game or not. Maybe if one of devs got bored one day and thought about it and did it, it would certainly add more realism.
But I'm not sure about items falling out, maybe just your weapon if you were fighting when you fell, but I can't imagine myself (given I luckily survived a fall from a big height) picking up my potions, and ingredients, and keys, and soulgems, and other stuff.

Yes, this is one of the things I really like about GTA 4 and Red Dead Redemption. Rockstar does it nicely.

How would flailing help you? I might understand rolling on our shoulder to soften the impact or throwing our arms out to propel ourselves, but flapping our arms around doesn't create sufficient lift to do anything of value.

That'd be great - I remember using a scroll of windwalker in Morrowind to get really high up in case Ma'iq was telling the truth, and as I fell I staedd in one position, before landing on my feet and then toppling to the ground.

Was hilarious, though XD

I'd like to see some flailing while falling from a reasonable or great height.
