What happened to Legendary creatures...?

Post » Tue Jun 29, 2010 3:25 pm

Do they only appear on your first ever playthrough? I encountered them all the first time I played, but from then on I've never encountered them again. I start again from scratch at Doc Mitchells, but I only noticed their disappearance just now when I headed to Deadwind Cavern to take out the Legendary Deathclaw. It wasn't there, only the mother. Anyone know why this is?

They still exist in my game. Perhaps you killed it and didn't notice. Or just that one was glitched and didn't spawn, maybe if you reload it'd be there.

Must have been hiding. I searched the caverns for ages, then left, fast traveled away, fast traveled back, went into the caverns, and the darn thing was waiting for me around a corner. They hit hard.

So, false alarm!

That's a glitch if you just left and re entered, or quit to menu and reloaded it should pop right back.

This happens in all areas the spawning seems to favour locating creatures in dribs and drabs rather than all together.
If outside and no spawns re about try quiting and loading too.

The Legendery deathclaw has a wonky A.I it never leaves the portion of cavarn it's in even after hitting you ( at least for me ).
If in trouble just run away it should not follow beyond that tunnel.

Also note I had the opposie happen to me I cleared the cave out, and then left a clear area and got jumped by four.
Luckly the cave entrence was to small to fit the two advlts and I survived ( darely ) by putting my back against it.

Sometimes the enemies do not spawn properly, re-entering the area usually helps. And they can get stuck wrong side of the wall, like happened in Fire Root Cavern the other day. Or you can kill them along the normal ones and not even notice, that happened to me with the Cazador and Nightstalker

Something like this happened with me last night on the Platform out in Lake Mead. We swam to it but the LakeLurks weren't there. That was unusual but we started looting. I crashed, reloaded my save from when I first reached the Platform and oh boy, did we get attacked immediately. They were there on the reload.

Crazy, crazy. :)

Not the same for me >_< It wasn't in the part where I found him on my first playthrough, but when I came back was wandering the halls. Definitely chased me pretty far, heh. I guess I'll just go away and come back if it happens again, thanks for the replies :)
