Large round room with two rockets on launchers

Post » Sat Jul 10, 2010 1:37 am

I am at the end of a tunnel (I think it's Repconn) there is a large section of window and I can see two rockets that appear to be on launchers inside a large round room. It appears that the floor of that rocket room is at least one floor below where I am standing. There is also a panel with a red (flashing) and a green light and a handle next to what appears to be a circular trap door. The panel does not show an "activate" message nor does the trap door seem to open.
Can I get into the rocket room? Do I need to get into the rocket room? Have I missed something that I need or should have done?

This is part of a quest: http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Come_Fly_With_Me

Check out the Wiki article to see where you should be along the questline

I TCLed down there once, just to sate my curiosity. As the policeman manning the crowd barrier once said: "Move along folks. Nothing to see here."

It's just for show, really. There's no way to actually get in there, short of console commands. 'officially' and story wise purposes the room is flooded with radiation that would kill a human in minutes anyway.

OK then, I'll try to avoid problems and try one of the work arounds. Thanks and Happy New Year to you all.

You don't need a workaround. You are at a point in the quest line where you need to trigger the next step. I pointed you to the walk through because it would be a lot quicker than finding out exactly where you are and leading you by the hand.

The others pointed out that there is no need for you to get into that room anyway. Neither you nor Haversam can go in there. Just finish talking to Haversam and complete the quest and you will arrive at another set of controls for the big finish.

Finish talking to Haversam...I thought I had completed the quest requirements. When I go back to talk there is no question/reply that leads me to a new step/area. That's why I believe I must have missed something somewhere. I have been all over the basemant, upstairs, tunnels etc over and over and over. I'm not finding what ever it is that I have failed to do. I'll keep looking.

You need to go back up to where you first saw Havershom and then go out to a Viewing Platform. There is where the controls you need are.

Ah ha ! .....on my way back up (for about the 10th time!) to see Jason and Chris, I found a door I had not opened. Inside was the last "demon" and a couple of jail keys. I had indeed missed something. The quest is now ongoing again. Thanks for the help.
