Fallout New Vegas Track List - That's It?!?!

Post » Wed Jul 14, 2010 2:18 am

So am I to understand that this is the FULL track list for Fallout New Vegas?

■Ain't That a Kick in the Head?
■Big Iron
■Blue Moon
■Cobwebs and Rainbows
■Heartaches by the Numbers
■It's a Sin to Tell a Lie
■Jingle, Jangle, Jingle
■Johnny Guitar
■Let's Ride Into the Sunset Together
■Love Me as Though There Were No Tomorrow
■Mad About the Boy
■Orange Colored Sky
■Sit and Sleep
■Something's Gotta Give
■Why Don't You Do Right? (Get Me Some Money Too!)

Is this not less than Fallout 3? I really wish they would just give you the ability to randomize your own set of songs. I suppose you could just run your own player in the background. The music goes a long way toward creating the feel for this game and I just wish they would have added more golden oldies. Sometimes I hear the exact same song twice in a row.

It's not actually the full track list. The game is currently not playing all the songs found in the files.

I noticed this too. There are like 42 tracks in the folder. What gives? Will they emerge later in the game? Anyone know about this?

I want a plethora of songs to listen to. Hell, I wouldn't mind if there were some kind of expansion on that in any of the DLC.

There are 48 tracks in the radio folder, of which 26 have vocals and 22 are instrumental only. It does appear that some of them are played more on one radio station than another, and some may be unlocked over the course of the game. But I've heard most of them while playing the game.

I know the feeling that if you leave the radio on, it starts to feel like you're hearing the same songs over and over, but really there's a lot of music. It's just that if you play for 5 hours, you're bound to hear some of it twice or even three times.

Compare the Fallout 3 track list to the Fallout New Vegas track list, and note that the one for Fallout 3 includes instrumentals and the list for FNV does not. There are waaaaay more songs in FNV. Really.

Also note that "Orange Colored Sky" is not in the game - it was used in a TV commercial.

Wait...there are songs on the disc that aren't playing? Is there a good reason, or will they be "unlocked" for $5 at a later date as part of an "add-on"?

This disturbs me.

The only ones I'm sure I haven't heard in the game are the ones written and performed by project lead J.E. Sawyer, but apparently the Lonesome Drifter plays those in the Tops if you manage to hire him as an act during one of the quests. Maybe they start playing them on the radio at that point?

I've certainly heard all 22 of the other vocal selections on the radio in the game, and I'm pretty sure I've heard most of the instrumentals. I swear to you, there is more music in this game than in Fallout 3. Really.

I think some are released at Certain Times. I heard Wayne Newton (Mr. New Vegas) on the radio talking about a Christmas Special. Perhaps songs are played on certain holidays?

Is there a way to make the radio play your own song set. I wouldn't mind pasting the mp3's from fallout 3 and\or others in to give it more of a variety.

I think one or two of the songs aren't on the radio. I'm pretty sure you have to do the Tops quest where you recruit acts to hear some of the blues/jazz pieces (played by one of the guys you recruit). There are some original songs that are only played by these guys too, like the song "Streets of New Reno."

I think the classical pieces (except ride of the valkyries) is reserved for the ultraluxe.
