What system are you going to play Skyrim on?

PC, of course. I would never dream of another system for an Elder Scrolls game.

My new gaming PC came today, and is what I am typing on right now:

Intel i5-2500 Quad Core 3.3Ghz
1.25GB GTX 570
8GB DDR3 RAM
2TB HDD

I reckon I shouldn't have too many problems with Skyrim.

Awesome, congrats!
I am the proud owner of a 5 year old PC lol I have to persuade my mom to buy a new one.

It would be great if the devs posted in this thread as well. We know what Todd is using, what about the others?

I'll be playing on PC. I'm a recent convert, played Oblivion on 360 for 4 years and finally bought myself a gaming laptop. Best decision I've made in a long time. :)

As for comments on screen size, the effective screen size (the amount of my field of vision which the screen occupies) of my 17 inch laptop screen is actually better than that of the 60 inch TV I play my 360 on because I'm sitting so much closer, so no complaints! Plus I could never go back to vanilla graphics after playing with Qarl's Texture Pack.

Nicely said, but why would they want to lose their jobs?

Fair point!
That's why I'm going to upgrade for HD69xx and launch eyefinity.

Here's something interesting:
http://support.amd.com/us/eyefinity/Pages/eyefinity-software.aspx

Sooo, there's Oblivion in this chart. And YES, it has "Gold" Eyefinity suppirt, so I expect Skyrim will handle it as well. Yeah!

I'll uncover one big devs' secret: they're not interested in fan-boys opinion. At all. Here's the thing: if you're a fan, than you'll eat whatever they'll cook. No matter, how good or bad it is - your opinion isn't objective if you're a fan. Sorry for possible ruining your dreams... (How did you know?! Well, let's say I'm integrated a bit into dev...)

And I'm sorry about going slightly off-topic, but I assume it necessary to share what I've found about eyefinity. Forgive me... Так-то.

I'm a vanilla player, I don't want/need user created mods to enjoy a game, as it was designed by the developers.

Added or changed content is not the only reason people make mods. There are plenty of bugs in the game that don't get fixed by Bethesda, so the users fix them themselves. That's why we have the Unofficial Oblivion Patch which fixes a ton of problems. ("1,800 bugs and 70,000 object placement errors" according to the description on Nexus) I prefer PC simply for the fixes.

Quickly gaining wait...lol :cake:

Words are hard.

PC. Big, comfortable desk chair, huge monitor, sound canceling headphones, in a room with air conditioning. I'll probably get a snack, and a drink. I may or may not walk to my bathroom, where I have a good supply of Charmin Ultra-soft double-rolls so I can dispose of my snack in a sanitary fashion. After gaming, I'll probably go to my bed, which is huge and comfy and curl up under the plush comforter - which my wife picked out, because it matches the blinds. The next morning, I'll probably venture to my kitchen after having a shower in my pristine bathroom. For breakfast, I think I will use my incredible stove-top griddle to prepare a stack of pancakes - with blueberries (Edit: And don't forget the Real Maple Syrup. All other Syrup is Bull****.). These I will eat as I boot up my PC in my air-conditioned room whilst ignoring my wife. She'll get mad as I venture about the lands of skyrim, continuing to ignore her thanks to my epic headphones. We'll have a fight that I won't understand and I'll end up missing a night of gaming. I should have played it on a console I guess..

If I get money for a new video card by then, PC. Otherwise, 360.

I can barely play The Witcher 2 on medium graphics settings and I really don't want to have to deal with constantly tweaking graphics settings in Skyrim. I just want to enjoy the game.

Don't know.
I have a 360, but I recently got a new PC that I think is powerful enough to run Skyrim. I don't really like PC gaming all that much, but mods would be cool. I'll probably get it on whichever system my friends do.

Or if I have a steady cash flow by then, both.

XBox 360.

I would play the PC version as well, but that bloated POS Steam will never see the light of day on my rig. If I find out that Steam won't be used, than I'll be playing the PC version as well.

Mods is the main, and only reason, why I would play on the PC. The game is being designed for the XBox. That is their main platform. The PC will be ported, as is most likely, from the XBox just like Oblivion. Mods will be needed to repair the PC version so that it's playable on the PC, just like with Oblivion.

So, to answer your question there is no other reason than mods to play the PC version. Plus, the user community makes much better mods than the devs can. That was also show with Oblivion.

Controls that are better (more precise) than thumbsticks. Mouse + Keyboard > All.

More customization in general, aside from mods. (Key bindings, graphics settings, ect.)

Better graphics if you can swing it.

Upgradeable hardware.

Personal preference.

Being a member of a community of gamers whose chosen platform doesn't handicap games.

Not having to play other games on xbox live?

I'm sure I'm missing a few, but aren't mods enough?

I am in the middle of building another PC as my current one is a few years old.. The Witcher 2 convinced me to finally upgrade. No way am I going to play Skyrim on anything other than the max settings.

Where is the "Panic for months over what system to pre-order for because I want it for PC but I'm not sure it can handle it" option?

Smart man(or women?), no rush buying! If you can afford high end-mid high end then go for it whenever, but I'd over shoot if I were you. Once graphics mods and stuff like ooo an fcom hit you'll want the best rig possible, no need to worry about upgrading.

Also, sorry to the poster I called an idiot, that was wrong and I know better.

PC. Although if the system requirements exceed my system (which I doubt) I'll probably pick it up for PS3 as well.

PC, 103 inch projector screen at 720p, surround sound, comfy bed. I can do it too, but better :D

No offense to the more internet savvy console player here, but the "unaccounted console audience" is comprised of people who probably still poop in the corner of a cave or hovel, and they make up most of that 90%. Hardly the type you'd see on this forum.

On a forum that needs to be accessed with a PC, you're likely going to see a lot more PC players.

You can't honestly think that console players don't own PC's.
I am willing to bet almost all of them have access to a PC or Mac in their homes, just not powerful enough to game on.

They also seem to have no problem coming out in droves in COD forums , if you catch my drift.

Therefore I choose to think it is what you said here:
