Has anyone ever played the old roguelike "Moria" or one of its variants (Umoria, Angband, Tangband, Zangband, Tome)?
In Moria specifically there was something called the "Monster Memory." Kind of a lame name but essentially it allowed you to recall information about any of the creatures you had previously come in contact with. You wouldn't know everything about a creature right off the bat, though; you would have to spend some time in its vicinity in order to learn how it moved, you had to be hit by it in order to learn about its attacks, and you had to kill dozens of a kind of enemy in order to learn its resistances, health, and strengths. I would love to have something like this in Skyrim, but I think it's just a little too detailed and not a feature that enough players would appreciate.
As for specific creatures, it would be great to see a few high-end creatures that are actually more powerful than dragons in remote places of the world. The top three on my wish list would be:
Hydrae: Multi-headed aquatic monsters infesting swamps and bogs, cut off a head and five more grow back!
Ancient Wyrms: older even than dragons, these slimy limbless abominations inhabit the miry deep places of the world.
Sea serpent: bane of hapless sailors, etc. etc.
edit: And let's skip the sharks, but replace em with orcas! or narwhals!
