Finger? ...and other things : Fallout: New Vegas

In Gibson's Shack (where you take Veronica) I found a finger. It has no weight and is worth one cap. Anyone know what it is for?

I found it between the mattress and the wall.

I found Mags on Black Mountain. Earlier I had completed Flags of Our Foulups, so why was she up here? I thought they were going to the Dam. First she was just strolling along on top of the mountain. Later I find her body down at the bottom. Looks like she died from bear traps or a boulder. I will have to take a trip to Camp Golf and see if the others are still there.

Lastly, will Arcade's quest only begin if you destroy the brotherhood? I've done all I can with the BoS except destroying them, but I can't get Arcade's quest. I know I've gotten enough points.

The finger probably serves no purpose.
Just there so that you have a finger to loot.

If you looked closely when you first entered the shack, the finger was actually resting on top of the machete buried in the wall. It was apparently the scene of a torture/murder of the skeleton on the bed, and the finger was likely added for atmosphere purposes.

It's pretty hardy finger then considering the body is entirely decayed while the finger is still in full flesh. :laugh:
