Love or Hate

Seems to me that F:NV is a love or hate kind of game.

Looks like the Lovers are all about:
Characters and Factions

while all the haters are all about:
Glitches and Graphics

I like the story and all that junk: I just ordered Fallout 1 and 2 because of it.

The game is not really focused on graphics, and the bugs are just annoying.

well there's a lot more to the "love" than that :hehe: but yes, most complaints are from people saying it's just a glorified expansion pack, and the people who let a few measly bugs get to them. alot of the time these are the people who set out to break the game in the first place instead of just playing it ...

I have a few glitches, and I think the graphics could be better (not technically but the art direction) but I absolutely love the game. It actually FEELS like Fallout, and I think Obsidian should make all future Fallout games.

From what I've gathered, some people seem to hate NV because isn't FO3 and others hate it because it's too much like FO3

I love fallout! from f1 to brotherhood of steel. EPIC games!!!!

Fallout 3 was cool because i got to play a new kind of fallout... all oblivion style.

I don't hate new vegas.

I hate that i cant play it.

I cant fight with a 5 fr..... my 2000$ cpu has been brought down to its knees by a simple npc animation...

I refuse to modify this game. (adding or del. files) Truthfully i should not have to. Hell, you have to really push me hard to modify ANY game.

I want to taste that candybar as the manufacture intended it! hehe (hey its better than another car anology)

I have used some console commands to help the issues out untill the patch comes out.

Its a beautiful game!!! Which is just pissing me off more!

lol

Actually, wrong. Graphics? More rants are about not enough content. There are many rants about bugs but ALL games have bugs in the first months which are eventually fixed and people can't seem to understand that.

Also, because i'm getting sick of centain behaviours i would like to say some more things.
NOT EVERYTHING IS BLACK OR WHITE. It seems that way because many in these forums are taken over by nerd rage, act like complete idiots or are just plain kids.
If you feel the nerd rage taking over when SOMETHING doesn't please you about the game resist it and quit making hate posts. Just complain and make constructive criticism so that you can help the game and yourselves.
And for the ones who say "quit ranting the game is flawless" - nothing is flawless and if someone complains about something, don't post if you really don't know what you are posting about.

Anyway, personally, though i've posted about some things that don't please me in this game, i love it as much as i loved all fallout series, i believe it's a worthy sequel and worth buying.

I respect your opinion.

I work in production. If my customers would put up with me sending them low quality product my job would be 110% more profitable. Unfortunately if i send out bad product the customers are unhappy and eventually will look for other options in the future.

The excuse that is the backbone of "the first few months" of games may be true. But is not fair to the consumer.

In the future when we are the elders and our unborn are the new "market". Are things still gonna be this way?

Or will someone finally step up and set that bar to a higher standard?

R.e. "Yeah but this is a diffferent industry." Funny.... ford had the same opinion 10 years ago about the very same buisness model they are using today, to try and dig themselfs out of there own hole......

anywhere from $1.50 to $5000 depending on size and style.

I LIKE fallout new vegas and I'm merely DISSAPOINTED that is doesn't offer as much exploration as fallout 3 does. Hence in my personal opinion I like fallout 3 more, but as a standalone game fallout new vegas is great. And I disagree with people who call this a glorified expansion pack, yes it uses the same engine but improves on just about every aspect except for exploration. Not everything thing is as simple as, this group thinks this and that group thinks that. There are also several groups inbetween and also some individuals who have a completely alien opinion about it.

Sorry about the capitalization I just don't want to attract fallout 1/2 really devoted fan trolls.

IMO I think the game is good. Definitely worth the money I spent compared to other games I have purchased recently. The content is more than enough also IMO. I unlocked the whole map last night and was shocked by all the place markers. I played Fallout 3 religiously over and over again. With any game there are problems and there are problems with this game. I respect the fact a patch was released but I also would like to see the details. My only gripe is the framerate and freezing I see on the PS3. I have seen a few solutions to resolve this issue but have yet to attempt any of them as I am deep in the game at LVL 22 and seems not even close to completing all the quests and little side skirmishes. I can live with that issue for now.

I can understand why some people may not be happy with the game but to be honest I don't think I have played a game all year that didn't have a few bugs and patched within a couple of weeks. What most people don't understand is time is money for most of these publishers and game companies. The more time spent the more it cost in the end. You can only hope the sales cover the overhead. I mean with all respect these companies are in it to make money, regrettably we don't always get the product we like and the company can't possibly make everyone happy.

Overall I believe the game is one of the best for the price paid. I have played far worse games this year after dropping $60US than Fallout New Vegas.
