Starting with our own execution?

Yeah, likely there will be a Dragon attack when the ax starts to fall, in which case you then have to fight off said dragon.

Between the "dragon attack" theory and how Todd keeps killing that one outside of Bleak Falls Barrow in his press walkthroughs of what is assumed to be an early and low-level quest in the game, I'm worried that they may be too easy to fight. :P

How do I get out of my own execution? The same way I get out of all of them.

I get better.

The latest issue of PC Gamer magazine (U.S. version) had Todd Howard fighting a dragon, but the journalist watching the screen seemed to indicate the battle was later in the game. He writes: "It's a glimpse of the power that awaits at the high levels of this . . . sequel." (p. 52). Anyway, I hope this dragon battle is the Bleak Falls Barrow one, though I don't know.

How about you come from a long line of Blades, your family I mean, and that was reason enough for the Blades to rescue you?

So its been confirmed that we start the game being lead to our execution, obviously we get out of it somehow. but how do you think we will? im thinking that the town will be attacked by a dragon and we'll get a chance to escape during the panic and confusion.
thoughts and opinions?

I think Skyrim is off to a great start, with your impending execution, that is. You were caught crossing the border, which implies an ulterior motive to go to Skyrim. What were you planning to do before getting caught?
The kickstart is pregnant with possibilities. That's why it's so good.

Since there's a civil war going on maybe you were mistaken for a spy from the rival faction.

Good stuff indeed.

If there is a dragon attack I hope I don't have to fight it. I'd like to be able to chose whether to fight it or just sneak away. I don't want to be forced into doing anything.

Your idea plus you fight the dragon and win then the guards are all like :D and set you free.

Idk... I mean, it'd be kinda lame to fight a dragon AND WIN within the first few minutes of gameplay.

The thing that bothered me with Oblivion is that the main quest was thrown at you immediately. I suppose it's nice that they give it a sense of urgency, since I doubt that the dragon invasion is gonna wait for you (at least initially), but the apparent ease with which dragons are slain is a bit worrying. I want them to be those OH MY GOD, I ALMOST DIED fights, the kind that get adrenaline pumping 'cause they're just so badass.

How it could be:
Your about to get executed,
The Executioner putting on the rope.
And in the last second...
1# ...a Dragon Appears, they cut the rope off and let you fight the Dragon and when you kill it you get freedom.
2# ...a Dragon Appears, it spraying fire everywhere, and then you escapes by using the new Run System.
3# ...an arrow kills The Executioner, a whole team of your Race appears and fight back and then helps you away from there.

Well, that is some ways...

While the dragon is attacking you take off your clothes and start streaking. At that time the guards are just gonna back away...
