Post » Mon Aug 16, 2010 2:07 pm

If so, how do i start it? Im just wondering because deathclaws are very easy for me to kill now. Im level 19 on normal and it only takes a couple shots with the brush gun.

They dont give you a quest.

but if you kill the DeathClaw Alpha male and the Deathclaw mother, and go talk to the guy with the construction hat, he gives you some experience, money and NCR Rep

Err, yeah, the guy on the road DOES give a quest. Not sure if you have to be a certain rep with NCR or whatnot, but I never had an issue getting the quest...

Its not a side quest its an unmarked free quest called "Claws out!" and the reward is XP, 5 NCR $100 bills, and NCR fame, along with the awesome loot in the quarry itself.

It's a free(unmarked) quest just like every other "quest" in Sloan.

It's more of a mild dare than a quest.

How can you get to level 19 and not understand how the Sloan quests work? It's unmarked like 100 other unmarked quests in the game!

Ha, a mild dare? Pretty sure if I was asked to clear out a pack of deathclaws and kill the alpha and mother, there better be some "I double dog dare you's" in the request. Lol. Seems like a major dare to me ;)

Talk to Chomps Lewis and he will talk about the Deathclaw problem and you will have an option to answer "Maybe I can take care of that for you" he will give you 5 stimpacks and 5 super stims as well and some NCR money when your done with the quest.

The death claw situation is more of just a mini quest. Also when clearing them out, near the furthest end from the entrance there are some mini-nukes and a light machine gun.

It's handled so casually, though. You'd think the inhabitants of the game world would make a bigger deal out of opening the road and allowing the mining to resume. It's pretty important, you know. I wanted a parade, damn it.

LOL...you beat me to this point. "Clear out a whole quarry full of Deathclaws? Hey I got a dare for you buddy! Bite me!"

I loved how you can use the mining towers and crane arms to get Line of Sight on the entire quarry. Made the entire side quest really enjoyable. For fun, do the quest at night and use incendiary rounds - makes the entire quarry light up real 'perty when you hit 3 or 4 Deathclaws at the same time.

I wandered to Sloan when I was like level 10, thinking I'd be hard and take out some deathclaws would be pretty easy, nope I was proved wrong, although they pissed me off that much that I devised a plan to get them which meant standing ontop of the quarry conveyor belt type thing and firing an incinerator at them for ages, it was light when I started and I took all through the night and finished when it was light again, only just made it as well as I ran out of ammo, took like over half an hour, was worth it tho, smug deathclaws, who's laughing now!!!

Shouldn't this be in the regular game section, not DLC stuff!?

Anyway, anyone else go check the other deathclaw sanctuary on the other side of the Colorado river? Good loot too.
